Repost this from another thread to share. The food is enough to keep me busy for 2 days in Melaka.

Here are some of the info I can find of the places I eat when I am in Melaka. All of them are within 5 minutes drive from Jonker. I walk most of the time except the Bak Kut Teh & Ole Sayang, which might be slightly further.

1. My favorite food in Melaka since 1997. Small familly run restaurant. Make sure you make your reservation and be on time. Must try Oyster Noodles, Oh-Nee. Have been around for donkey years. Friendly Boss will introduce you to the day's catch.

2. LIM KEE RESTAURANT (Bak Kut Teh). Jalan Laksamana Cheng Ho, 75000 Melaka, Malacca, Malaysia. +60 16-644 5555

Located beside Tan Kim Hock HQ store (ask around, the locals will know) in a zinc roofed shed. Old styled black claypot BKT. Not too bad for people who likes hot soup.

3. ‎ Fat Lee Restoran aka 肥李 ( Eat Crab)

Refer to someone's blog: http://4-the-love-of-food.blogspot.com/201...-in-melaka.html

I've only tried the Salt Baked Crab. becoz I usually have dinner at Teochew restaurant, then Dapao the crabs back to hotel.

4. Chicken Rice Ball - Chung Wah

http://www.onestopmalaysia.com/food-review...-rice-ball.html

5. Popiah - In front of Mdm King's emporium (Bring plenty of tissue)

http://food.malaysiamostwanted.com/venues/...alan-bunga-raya

6. Fried Oyster - Near Mdm King (Alley along the same road)

http://www.tourism-melaka.com/BungaRaya.html

7. Nonya - If you really insist

Nancy Restaurant - Never tried but it is one of the more famous ones

Ole Sayang - Not too bad but normally I skip becoz too many other things to eat but some of my friends really like it. Maybe I am not too into Nonya food. http://eatinout.blogspot.com/2006/10/ole-sayang-melaka.html

Good Food in Malacca, Melaka

If you are looking for good food in Malacca (Melaka), below are the list of recommended places:

Capitol Satay Celup

GPS: N2.19548, E102.25252

Address: Capitol Satay Celup, 41, Lorong Bukit Cina, Melaka

Open at 5pm till last customer leaves

Comments: I've been to Capitol, Ban Lee Siang and McQuek Satay Celup. My vote goes to Capitol Satay Celup simply because the sauce taste more ummph. And after sitting down for while, you will get the jumbo prawn. Remember to peel off the shells before cooking it else it will take ages to cook.

Capitol is more expensive - 80 cents per stick but more varieties

Ban Lee Siang Satay Celup

GPS: N02 12.306 E102, 14.729 - this coordinate a bit misleading, but it will lead you to the Jalan Ong Kim Wee and the shop is on your left and not on your right as per the GPS coordinate. Weird. I got the coordinate from one of the blog. Forgot to record down the coordinate myself.

Cheaper, 50 - 60 cents per stick, less choices.

take note that the satay sauce is recycled. Confirmed by vkeong.

chicken rice nice or chicken nice nice?

btw, most of the food in Melaka are over-rated, over-crowded and over-there. The only reason is to 'Go there' to eat that and enjoy the blast down the NSHW. ^_^

Not a bad choice. Nothing much on the NSHW but speed only. Also, Melaka is not too far by route 5, probably 4-5 hours depending on your stops.
