I think the heat is due to the cam is running. That's why I intend to set it less sensitive so that the cam won't be constantly activated. Imagine if park under hot sun, think the temp of the cam can fry an egg.

I personally feel that the led is not the main contribution to the heat.

As for the resolution of the cam that can affect the temp? Is really sad if is really true cos purpose of choosing this cam cos of its good resolution.

Btw anyone really use car cam to report dangerous drivIng or speeding commercial veh or commercial veh on lane 1?

what what I understand...the camera is always running. The trigger is only for it to record the video..so no trigger, the camera still running.

Oh no wonder the cam is hot even in the morning when I'm off to work.

SO Is just 1 "bar" away from the insensitive setting right ?

Think will try that. Thks for sharing.

Seems like that cam is hot. I mean real hot. I guess the cam won't b fried rite?

No, less than 1 bar, I mean literally beside the insensitive button.

I think the question I have on Blackvue DR400 motion detection in parking mode is, after a motion is detected, the recording (or saving into memory card) will start.

Now, upon what condition(s) will be camera goes back to monitoring mode (not writing to memory card) ?

For example, upon no motion is detected for say 10 mins, the camera will stop saving into the mmeory card.

Based on my observation of the past footage, the moment motion was detected, it will continue to record forever until you start moving the car and it enter into normal mode.

Anybody know ?

Neutral Newbie

I stick a layer of alumium foil inside the plastic casing. It helps to reduce the heat on it when parked under the sun. But mine is the eariler version without GPS, so this method might not be suitable for in-build GPS antennna version.

I run my Blackvue 400 24/7 for the past 2 months and it turn out to be like this!

OMG what is happening to my blackvue?????.....

It wasn't like this, it used to be very clear and nice.

I do agreed that when I remove my sd card, the card is kind of hot :(

Clean the lens, update, re-format, still the same....

Anyone encounter the same like me?

Ignore the date in the image, as I did not set the date and time after reformat.

Brightness is set to normal

Sorry I realised that there are 3 settings.

1 for sensitivity for norm recording. Guess I will leave it to default right

1 for sensitivity for parking mode. So I will shift the 3 bars to the far left plus 1 "click" right?

1 for motion detection move the bar all the way to the left n plus 1 "click" right?

Is this correct or recommended?

Seems like there's something wrong with the lens, could be due to overheating?

Today while I went thru the footage of my cam, there's one part whereby the screen turned purple then to totally white. You can still see the clock still running at the bottom of the screen. My car is parked under the sun.

Later on when drive off, it's back to normal.

As for the motion sensor, think not accurate cause with my setting (next to insensitive) it still trigger movement from more than 8 meters!

doesn't work dat way for both my 350 n 400. maybe motion sensor sensitive; even rain fallin on windscreen considered movement... dat wat happened to mine, but dat case should be good rite...

Then seriously I'm wondering what so proprietary about Pittasoft motion detection algorithm as claim on their webby :) Basically they just detect any differences between last video frame and current video frame to determine motion.

his positive feedbacks looks ok leh.

be wary of these positive feedbacks.

i got a 720p camera from ebay, uplorry within a few months and I sent back to seller for replacement(shipping fees paid by me).

when replacement set arrived, uplorry symptons within a few days, emailed seller and they refused to communicate anymore.

tried to change my feedback score but cannot, so lan lan even with the 1 year warranty.

So if tats the case the sensitivity toggling won't work at all right ?

Anyway I have adjusted the sensitivity hopefully it won't capture anything tat is far away. Else is literally recording 24/7
