Rosschang 1st Gear July 15, 2011 Share July 15, 2011 OT A bit, anyone notice C&C started to bring in non-Avangrade version (eg: Elegance etc) nowadays?... applicable to the new E Class at the moment. Notice it when I was going thru their price list after visiting the showroom... COE high they starting to bring in cheaper merc?... Actually for the C Class, best bang for the buck would be the C200. 15k more u get all the memory seat n what's not, more powerfully tune same-o 1.8L engine, cheap roadtax etc etc... Your last statement is quite true, best bet is on the C200, however, seem like the CnC SE is hard pushing the C180 CGI instead. But still many goes for the C180k of the low road tax and under Cat A COE.

For a little bit more, I will go for the C250 CGI compared to the C200 CGI, 204 BHP against 184 BHP. Same 1.8L engine for the C250 CGI as well. http://www.------.com/articles/article.php?artid=917 Writeout on the C250 CGI on "One shift". Hoppie24 1st Gear July 15, 2011 Share July 15, 2011 aiya get at least the 180k version la... the 160k version is running the old kompressor supercharger engine, old 5 spd gearbox throw in 20k more, u get the CGI turbo engine (more powerful), and new 7-Gtronic (7 forward, 2 reverse --> see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7G-Tronic) very confy gb. y need 2 reverse gear huh? But still many goes for the C180k of the low road tax and under Cat A COE. bro, the last time i checked, the C180 CGI is using 1.8L engine with turbocharger. meaning its under the Cat B. the C180K Kompressor is 1.6L engine with supercharger. this is the one that should be under Cat A. usually for cars in singapore, the lower trim level model will sell better.. due to lower price and our crappy road tax system. Rosschang 1st Gear July 17, 2011 Share July 17, 2011 y need 2 reverse gear huh? Car stunt? I dunno. but on my dad's S350, when on comfy mode forward and reverse start on 2nd gear, the more sporty mode start on 1st gear. More punchy on 1st gear obviously, but 2nd gear to start the car rolling also not ricy at all...

Mlok99 Neutral Newbie July 23, 2011 Share July 23, 2011 So, does it mean more value to grab a 2yr old C180 with higher OMV and much lower COE (which was back in 2009)? If i intend to use the car for only 3 more years. Considering between getting old vs new C180. well that depends how much you are paying for a used Merc. Looking back at 2009 when the COE was much lower the C Class cost much lesser then so to pay $135k+ is not that economical. Thats near to what they pay for a brand new car in 2009 i believe. Thanks... In fact, I'm now even considering old C180 or E200, left 3-4yrs which OMV is bout $50k But very very worried bout such old Mercs. Not sure if i should even try out. Sell the current Rush (OMV $19k) considering it can fetch good price now.

I notice that for older cars especially those with higher c.c. like the E240 or C240, their price is as cheap as a E200 of the same year. Reason maybe that it is alot harder to sell to used market when everyone is buying lower c.c rather bigger engines. Like those S280, they could price almost like a E240. Tohto Hypersonic February 27, 2012 Share February 27, 2012 I'm also debating between C180K or 180CGI. I've booked 180K already. The engine is definitely less noise than my Civic 1.8. But I'm still thinking may be I should have gotten 1.8 engine instead?! I've one more day to decide...what to do what to do... If you can afford the 180CGI, should go for it. C180k is using older technology.
