Akiyo Clutched September 5, 2011 Share September 5, 2011 (edited) There is more driving to be had than just what is in Singapore though. I do agree with you however, if you never plan to leave Singapore in your car, then the Exiga GT is a waste of money. If however you like to take driving holidays to places like Port Dickson, Phuket, etc etc then a car like the GT would be fantastic - having power to on those sorts of roads can make a massive difference to safety and enjoyability alike. ya, i agree with what you said too.. But I am not saying that Exiga GT is a total waste of money even if driven on Spore roads. Some owners may just want that extra power in the engine in case they need it. However, it's just a pity not being able to use most of its torque/power on our 'congested' roads and also can consume quite an amount of fuel. Like what you mentioned, if on other roads, it will then be a different story. Edited September 5, 2011 by Akiyo ↡ Advertisement

Mllcg 3rd Gear September 5, 2011 Share September 5, 2011 true.. in fact the possible production of the RX9 will most probably depend on the sale of the coming Mazda 2 and 3. But having said that, quite a number of Jap's sports/performance cars are being axed or stopped production due to emission and economy issues, S2000, CTR, NSX, Evo X, RX8, etc. The only one we can look forward to in a way is toyota and subaru's FT-86 model. screw the emissions la. seriously. like COE, they are killing off cars
Proton_neutron 1st Gear September 5, 2011 Share September 5, 2011 screw the emissions la. seriously. like COE, they are killing off cars Not exactly.... The Germans are fine tuning their engines, and they can still easily meet Euro 6 emissions now =)
Darryn Turbocharged September 5, 2011 Share September 5, 2011 Not exactly.... Mllcg 3rd Gear September 5, 2011 Share September 5, 2011 (edited) seriously la. wanna stop emissions, cars dont produce much. china factories produce more smoke in a day than 1000 cars combined. and they do kill cars. singapore most probably wont get evo 11 as it has been leaked its a hybrid DIESEL. Type R has stopped. Edited September 5, 2011 by Mllcg
Akiyo Clutched September 5, 2011 Share September 5, 2011 Not exactly.... The Germans are fine tuning their engines, and they can still easily meet Euro 6 emissions now =) yup... can follow what VW and Audi are doing now... downsizing the engine and TC it for more power, improved fuel consumption and lower emission.. That could be one way.
Proton_neutron 1st Gear September 5, 2011 Share September 5, 2011 Yep - and emissions sure didn't kill the V12 Lamborghini (as rumours suggested it would) And to add, the Bugatti Veryon is still in production. In fact, the saloon version, the Bugatti Galiber has been confirmed for production. The Bugatti Veryon Roadster is also being produced =) Emissions didn't kill off fast cars. It's the car manufacturers themselves who waved the white flag.

That could be one way. still, 1.4TC<2.0TC. only subaru hasnt given up. infact their new 2011 STI is based on the old emission standards. is not mandated. its they want or dont want only
Ahyoo2002 2nd Gear September 5, 2011 Share September 5, 2011 Strange, Mazda overprice and high fuel consumption? I bought my Mazda 5 for $70K. Is it expensive? The fuel consumption is about 10km/l (city), is it very bad for a 2L MPV?

Their 2000cc TC engine is pretty powerful and yet uses lesser fuel and better emission.. Still, I have to agree that it's the manufactors that are waving the flag due to their own reasons.
