My case, the "FT" I met in NS (1998-2001 batch):

Dutch Eurasian served NS in my platoon. One of the team leader

Malaysian Fren from Poly, Sign-on airforce

Malaysian classmate, NS go OCS become occifer, still extend NS while waiting for uni admission.

Indonesian Roommate, NS as MG commander.

All of them lived in SG all their live (except for AF guy), all speak our lingo/hokkien (the eurasian speak singlish like us).

IMO they are all my BROTHERS-IN-ARMS!

since most have negative views on FTs like pinoys, prc, indian, mymmar

if their sons served NS alongside our sons in future, will you consider them as fellow sinkies?

As long as they served NS, there are my fellow Singaporeans, to me. Whether they convert later to Citizen or not doesn't matter.

He is the mama doc that equate serving the medical profession to serving NS which is two seperate matter. He was rope in because of past connections I believe. Most male Singaporean will not accept that comment he made on paper as he never serve a single day in NS but got citizenship and now serving in a GRC. He does not understand the constant disruption of life for 20 years of reservist obligations till statutory age. He is paid very handsomely for his effort as a doctor while NSMen are paid peanuts in comparison.

Here is the link from Wikipedia quote:

"He is the son of Dominic Puthucheary, a trade unionist and founding member of the People's Action Party, whom late in his political life joined the opposing Barisan Sosialis party and was detained under Operation Coldstore"

He is the very reason that I stayed neutral in protest the last election. Judging by the end result, TCH support did slide overall as compare to the previous election. Now there are two ex-bolehlander in Pasir Ris GRC. Yet to see a ah tiong MP !

if PAP really fields a PRC-turned-Singaporean candidate, it shows that after explaining so much, PAP still disconnects from the people

i dun believe they are unaware of the strong anti-FT, esp anti-PRC, sentiments on the ground

They know. But they always say "we can't completely shut them out, etc, etc, etc..". Keep bringing them in as workers, students, whatever.... now our army is not spared as well.

Yup. Old memories of brotherhood. Even now some of my platoon mates are my best pals!
