Have you tried PML's service? it ain as great as the price...

personally NO, but few friends around me had BM , and all had diff exp with PML, generally are Above average feedback.

PML is also run by human like us and so many staffs there.

I do agree you could find some good workshop outside too but this WS does have their constrain like getting spare/ space / and warranty claim against manufacurer defects.

My POV is simple everything so OPEN we know how the various Companies does their job and we choose the right WS at your own reason or preferance.

I've bought 4 PI cars over the years & these are what i've learnt:-

(1) make super sure that you compare apple to apple- engine specs & especially interior specs like hifi/ navigation/ rear auto sunblinds & sides/ rims

(2) In today's scrap value market, OMV isn't of much diff unless it's a lot, why? 50% scrap value

(3) make sure you insert clause into contract fixed number of bids before full refund of deposit

(4) PI Bemeers really isn't a good idea, why? Bemeers needs 'online' updates & codes which only the main agt can do direct with factory & it's fairly often. If

you bring car back to agent, you'll need to pay S$20,000 'adoption fees' before they'll touch your car. All PI's will tell you that 'servicing' your beemer isn't

a problem, yes they are 'partially' right. Brake Pads/ Rotors/Fluids/ Engine Oil change & such wouldn't pose any problem but it's the constant 'codes updates'

that you'll cry. Can you drive without updates? Yes you can but it'll start with some 'permenant' lights coming up on your dashboard & mature into CHRISTMAS

light up ;-)

(5) Rule of Thumb, buy PI if you must if you've min 25-35% savings over same model versus main agt & make sure ride has MUCH More Specs then main agt.

(6) make sure it's not a 'used import'- specify it on your contract.

WHAT is USED import ?

are you tallking they register a USED car as NEW car here?

u talking 2nd hand issit? [laugh]

EDIT: i answer my own question - Ok ya haha

From my experience, buying 5 Series is for driving and occational ferrying of ppl, buying 7 Series is to ferry the buyer in, and if one wants to drive and not frequently ferrying of passenger they will buy 3 Series.

Just to add, when one is considering new ride, no point pointing to them 2nd hand...

Lots of good advice here. I had the same issue about agent vs PI. I checked for 2nd hand cars but wasnt convinced. It was the trade in value at PI was willing to give for my 2010 Mazda 6 that convinced me.

So just confirmed new Audi Q7 272hp S-Line with PI, difference in price between Premium Auto (PA) and PI was almost 75k. PA confirmed 20k adoption fee when I called to check if they would support a grey market import.

Let see how this experience goes.

Price difference $75K? That's very good wor ... OMV difference ?

Recently I went PA to check on Q7 smaller brother, SE mentioned PI units were not "climatized" to get use to local (hot) conditions, thus parts may break down sooner, eg. air-con. Also he mentioned after $20k adoption fee, owner also restricted to certain days to be able to drive car in to servicing/rectify problem. Wonder how true.

PI, warranty issues??? Some PI will not honor the warranty..

SOME PI will not honour the warranty? Practically ALL PIs will not honour anything. All they will do is to give you the runaround when a serious

issue arises. DO NOT buy PI.

Neutral Newbie

actually, BMW from PML can also bring back to Munich Auto, which specialises in M Cars. Reason is simply both report to BMW Asia. Friend has brought it there to do warranty claim before, although the car was originally from PML. You'll have to check to see whether cars bought from PI also fall in this category

I should have been more clear in my post. The price difference I mentioned also includes the difference in trade in value that Premium and the PI were willing to give as well the value of the extra kit/options in the PI car.

For a straight difference in quote after discounts, it was 303k from PA and 273k from PI.

So its 30K cheaper based on car prices itself. And do you mean PI offered addtional of $45k for your trade-in?

Care to share or PM me which PI? Plannng to get one too.

Btw, do they have stock or on indent basis?

I bought an in-stock car. Still taking 3 weeks for delivery :( Jack Cars in Ubi has a Q7. I think you can haggle it down to 270k.

Sent you a PM as well. Take care.

I suggest u take 2011 2nd hand 5 series from PML, dont risk urself buying PI car. In the past i almost bought E250 from PI but ended bought from C&C, lots of damages but it was covered by AD for FREE! Dont think PI maybe able to do that.
