Kudass Neutral Newbie December 4, 2011 Share December 4, 2011 Is it recommend to change tyre back at AD when i go for my servicing? ↡ Advertisement
Fcw75 Hypersonic December 4, 2011 Share December 4, 2011 No, why would you want to do that? There's many tyre shops outside than can give better price.

WTF 4th Gear December 4, 2011 Share December 4, 2011 i was thinking it might be more convenience It's also very convenience and fast for those tyre shops if you're not too fussy about which shops. Plus you'll have more choice to suit your liking and budget. Mine was changed in about half an hour.

Fcw75 Hypersonic December 4, 2011 Share December 4, 2011 Which area do you want? If east side, I recommend Leong Seng @ Paya Ubi or South East @ Kaki Bukit.

I changed mine near my place in Tiong Bahru, Soon Tyre & Battery Service, at 315 Outram Road #01-08 Tan Boon Liat Building Singapore 169074. Tel : 62355593. I saw them selling Michelin but did not see Bridgestone. Conti not too sure though. I checked their prices against Tyrepac which they are one of the fitting locations and I know the prices that I got from Soon Tyre must be lower than Tyrepac as Tyrepac are just middle-man. The boss also refund me the 1st hr of parking charges and that I find to be a very gesture.
Detach8 5th Gear December 4, 2011 Share December 4, 2011 i think 205/55/16 don't have CSC5, only CSC3 for CSC5 you can try asking top93 at ubi

Not worth paying so many more % for tyres at AD; can get cheaper at some tyre shops. Also cannot watch AD workers mount the new tyres on rims, balancing and installation on axles, etc. unlike at tyre shops. Soon Tyres service is quite good and the boss has been helpful to me in the past. I am not sure if they have Bridgestone tyres. In September last year I changed all four of my stock BS ER30 205/55/R15 to BS Turanza GR90 for $180 (with GST) each at Soh Brothers at 4001 AMK Ind Pk 1. The price of tyres of all brands & models may have gone up somewhat in the meantime. BTW I was very impressed at the build quality of the MIJapan stock tyre. I changed although the set could perhaps go for another 8K km when a big piece of sidewall on one tyre got torn out by sharp kerb. The steel and other reinforcement belts remained intact. Tianmo Hypersonic December 4, 2011 Share December 4, 2011 i was thinking it might be more convenience bro..change tires is very fast de................once you pick is less than 30 min you can drive off liao...............is the shopping and deciding which tires that takes time.................. Bystander50 5th Gear December 4, 2011 Share December 4, 2011 No............i would not do that...............AD don't sell tires............they still buy from Tyre shops.......... [:)] I don't think they'll buy from the tyre shops, more likely they drive your car to their contracted shops and let them change, then charge a fee. Edge_sg Neutral Newbie December 4, 2011 Share December 4, 2011 From what i know,AD get the tires from the distributor(whatever brand they have). Its install by the tech of the AD. The price paid for is marked up slightly due to higher overheads they have. More ppl involve to sell the product esp the advisors, just like salesman in any trade. Pocus Turbocharged December 4, 2011 Share December 4, 2011 changing tyres in AD is stupid cos they don't cover the tyre anyway. Anything they will direct you back to the tyre shop they bought the tyre from.
Souma Clutched December 6, 2011 Share December 6, 2011 Bros, wat's the recommend tyres pressure for 17" low profile tyres? (PSI/KPA) Once i seek advice from autobacs mech guy, that fellow reckoned it should be around 220 ~ 230 KPA. Whereas some (not mechanic) says, i should follow wat's stated on the tyres concerning the tyres pressure. But it says 350 KPA... huge difference betweem 230 KPA and 350 KPA... wat is (are) the consequences of pumping 350 KPA to a low profile tyres? so ultimately, who should i believe? ↡ Advertisement
