Pelican 1st Gear February 22, 2012 Share February 22, 2012 i was driving at a reasonable speed at rightmost lane overtaking 2nd lane cars on the expressway. there was a car behind me suddenly put on right signal. there is no exit on the right side. does he means he wants to overtake me? any universal meaning giving right signal when on the expressway rightmost lane? i know if high beam could mean a car wanna overtake. ↡ Advertisement

Kb27 Supersonic February 22, 2012 Share February 22, 2012 It's a code used in MY. When they want you to get off the right lane, they signal right.
Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear February 22, 2012 Share February 22, 2012 It's a code used in MY. When they want you to get off the right lane, they signal right. Looks complicated Recently I encountered mostly foreign motorcyclists signalled left when they wanted to go straight/turn right. Rather complicated. A few local cars/buses/taxis also like that. Caravan 5th Gear February 22, 2012 Share February 22, 2012 In MY, it means asking you to give way. In SG, usually it means driver forgot to off the signal. But if you are already driving at a 'reasonable' speed, and there are many cars in front of you, I see no need to give way. Unless it's an emergency vehicle. Weichien Clutched February 23, 2012 Share February 23, 2012 It means a softer way of high beaming, double hazard light on also the same meaning
Panthera Clutched February 23, 2012 Share February 23, 2012 hmm...next time will see ppl on right signal all the way on right lane le.
Maroon5 5th Gear February 23, 2012 Share February 23, 2012 similar in JKT. but they added one more tho, on hazard lights when hard braking.

It's the more polite way as compared to high beam...
Vhtfhwlego Supercharged February 23, 2012 Share February 23, 2012 to hoggers, reasonable speed could be at speed limit or less 10km/hr & even up to 20km/hr.... to speeders, reasonable speed at lane 1 can be +30km/hr above speed limit.
Tianmo Hypersonic February 23, 2012 Share February 23, 2012 right signal on right lane is saying.................please give way,I am in a hurry.............. high beam when on the right lane is saying.................get the Fcuk out of the way, you are hogging............... Deckbuild 6th Gear February 23, 2012 Share February 23, 2012 similar in JKT. but they added one more tho, on hazard lights when hard braking. Hazard light on hard braking is good. Alot of drivers which tailgates or driving within 2 sec rule do not usually see the traffic situation ahead of the car infront, sometimes due to tinted glass or the vehicle infront too high can rear end easily. Hazard light makes drivers "wake up"
Desmondtwb Clutched February 23, 2012 Share February 23, 2012 I practice both right signal on 1st lane to indicate "Please do not hog the road and keep left" and Hazard lights for hard braking. Right signal to me is a more polite way to put things across.
Luv_presea 1st Gear February 23, 2012 Share February 23, 2012 Read or saw before somewhere, in the street racing world, right signal means "lets race". If the other guy also put on right signal, it means the race is on. But I'm sure it doesn't apply here though. Lol.
inlinesix Hypersonic February 23, 2012 Share February 23, 2012 I think it is quite a universal sign. I think i saw it in UK & German Autobahn. Mayb a lot of ppl here don't know. Somemore, in Aust, if u tailgate the car in front, the driver in front will auto siam to the left.
