QQDreamer 4th Gear March 23, 2012 Share March 23, 2012 why dont you get a parf car? A COE car may give u lots of headache when it comes to breakdown ( spare parts cannot find). IMO get a parf value car more economical.

W210k 1st Gear March 23, 2012 Share March 23, 2012 Many COE cars at the dealer lots damn smelly like fcuk, the moment you enter one But seriously, unless you get a very good 'durian', you really don't know what you don't know!
Vhtfhwlego Supercharged March 23, 2012 Share March 23, 2012 not about parts, not about the durablity, not about loan interest .... What if you crashed into another equally expensive car? Can your insurance pay for the damages of both cars? And what if they say your car total lost???
W210k 1st Gear March 23, 2012 Share March 23, 2012 (edited) I actually considered a COE car for each of my children (when they got their driving licenses). In both instances, after many visits to used car dealers, responding to ST ads, I decided (twice) to get each of them a brand new OPC - since they'd be using it more in the evenings and on weekends. Weekdays - to school by public transport, just like the rest of em! One a Mit and the other a KIA. For both cars, I paid only $10K above the COE price at that point in time (after the $17K offset and with very firm bargaining to knock off another $2-3K from the 'best price' quoted). So for only a $10K incremental over COE price - for a brand new car, albeit an OPC (which fits their usage pattern to a 'T'), I felt its better than getting a COE car ... whose REAL history is unknown, and a higher risk exposure to unplanned breakdowns and need for significant parts replacement in the near-term. Smelly somemore and a lot of these COE cars have dash / steering plastics, knobs, vents and seat upholstery badly deteriorated. 2-3 years on, both OPC cars run without problems, as good as new, and never needed any parts replacement. Just normal servicing / fluids replacement at the AD workshops. Edited March 23, 2012 by W210k

JJ_JJ Clutched March 23, 2012 Share March 23, 2012 Since new car will be rising higher and higher, do you think we should buy COE car? This worth considering Porsche Boxster Tip 1997 ? Try buying direct from owners and get financing yourself. COE cars like Bo Han Cheng to those blood suckers one. Worst of all, they are so lazy in doing up and repairing the damaged parts of the car usually. If you need recon parts and all that, just visit scrap yards in Woodlands Ind Park.
