Subhas should accompany Desmond in his walkabout rounds leading to the by-election. That way, the HG residents will see him for real and know that he means what he says. So conveniently omitting Desmond Choo's uncle's criminal history, not to mention his racist comments while he was MP. Unfair to tar the nephew for the uncle's transgressions? Quite a number of residents said they would give it a good thought and only decide on election day itself...Seems like the resolve of some sections of the HG residents in voting for WP is not as strong as they were in the past..I have revised my prediction to 53-55% of votes to be polled by WP on 26th instead of the earlier 58-60%. Still probably a win but a significant drop which means WP have to work their socks off in the next 4yrs after that to regain the confidence of HG residents..If PEH wins, he cannot afford any screw up, be it a small or a big one.. Give the HG residents an array of professional support, for free ... something that many may have suffered from neglect for the past 20 years! Go all the way, I'd say - from psychiatry, physiology, psychology, podiatry, nutritionist, endocrinology, optamology, orthopedics, vascular, and other specialist medical assistance. Offer these services for free to the old and aged in HG, for the win! Desmond should even promise to build a welfare-based public clinic in HG, for HG residents only, from the voluntary services provided by Singapore's upper class! It will then truly be a case of the elite, reaching out directly to the sandwiched class, to help those in dire need. I suppork!!! your msg simply means those under pap care now does not require any help or all of them rich enough to take care of themselves?.....only those under opp care needs help??.... With the independent coming in to dilute votes, Desmond and Subhas striking a one-two proposition to the HG folks, and hopefully, the PM and both DPMs attending the HG rallies to promise better things to come for SGeans, I am sure it will tilt the whole thing over to PAP's favor. In parallel, Vivian B. is busy on his own trajectory to offer subsidized rentals at hawker stands strictly for SGeans who want to give the hawking profession a go. Subsidized rentals to SGeans and stall bids to be opened only to SGeans will give us the preferential treatment citizens so deserve ... and to ward off the strong China competition. Hawking as an income-generating small business will present new hopes to the bottom 10-20% of the country's salary spread demographics.
