Estimated COE quotas going forward

Got this from my SE. Estimated. Dunno true anot. Anyone can verify?

 

Cat A (42% cut, 636-369)

 

Cat B (2% increase, 350 to 358)

Cat E (28% cut, 320 to 240)

 

 

 

If liddat, Cat A, shoo thru the roof wif Taxi, Mercedes, BMW, volvo......jap n korean can close shop

I tot newspaper said there will be some minor increment in Cat A, why do you get 42% drop!

LTA announcement no impact at all. All those who stayed away during last bidding will cheong in this coming Wed. My advice for those die die must buy new car one, better go and book by end of tuesday. Tuck Yew hands are tied, nothing much he can do as demand outstrips supply big time. With more machi type FTs settling in Sg, and more taxis need to be renewed, the only way is up

I foresee the Coe drop this Wednesday.

This is a much older graphic, so it may be a little off, but it appears that on an annual basis, the supply of COE has never been lower since COE was implemented:

 

 

Now you know why COE is high... actually, it's not even at all time high yet even without taking inflation into account.

Seriously, who can verify? Everyone is guessing right now.

 

Actually the authorities should stop announcing anything that would set off panic buying. Just keep quiet can liao. The more they announce it will just get worse.

Actually the govt was not very smart when they said in early May that more COEs will be released. COE is a lose lose topic. Release more, roads jammed. Release less, price go up. They should just reinforce the fact that COE is totally left to mkt forces. I shudder to think what will happen in Aug if the BT article is accurate. 42% reduction in no of Cat A COEs! Means Cat A will rise to $70k a least???

LTA says they will revise the growth cut gradually, so from Aug 2012, the growth cut will be 1.5% instead of 0.5%.

Therefore from Aug 2012 to Feb 2013, there will be 10% more quota.
