As i said long time ago, what's the point of being identifiable and traceable when there is lack of enforcement of traffic rule? When you dismiss others points with such an 'invitation', it's a challenge. Basically, you "invitation" is such that unless the person takes ity up, else ther point is not valid nor are they in a position to make any comment on cyclists... some 'invitation' alright ...duh But don't try to divert the topic. If you want to define your action as an invitation, go ahead. Your motive and intent remains the same As I've said long ago, I don't need to kill someone to know it's wrong, I don't need to be burnt to know that I shouldn't play with fire..... and in the cyclists context: I don't need to be a cyclist to know that I should abide by traffic rules when I am on the road And as I've also said long ago, without being identifiable and traceable, there's NO means to even start enforcing traffic rules... something that most cyclist know and are happily exploiting ... How do you know you shouldn't play with fire? Why do you need identifiable and traceable unless TP is not doing their work (i.e. traffic patrol)? It has been a week since I request for information. Same traffic rules as cars. Follow all the traffic lights and keep left unless overtaking or turning right. Wrote in and gave the TP the video clip of what happened, and ask what happen if i made contact with the bicycle. TP replied that judgement will be made on a case by case basis. But cyclists are to follow the traffic light as car, then they keep on cycling ahead on my left and go straight, does that meant I forever cannot turn left at all? Earthboy 4th Gear December 9, 2012 Share December 9, 2012 (edited) I do understand that they are not suppose to be riding on expressway....but i m not sure if Nicoll constitutes as an expressway...if it is...dan obviously the biker is at fault... Erm...if the 1.5m will result in an accident with another vehicle on the other lane...dan its the driver fault rite? For not slowing down and checking his mirror before doing a lane change. i m both a cyclist and driver....rides a roadie and its almost impossible for us to ride on pavement at 30-40km/hr.... To me, cyclist can do what ever they want. I advice them to keep in mind that any accident will most likely will be fatal. They just have to accept this and is okay with it. When that happen, their parent may lose a son, the wife may lose a husband. The children may lose a father. That is all. if they are fine with it than continue to do it. No point fighting with other road user, cos when it happen, the one who get injure and die has the most to lose. guy, anyone can do anything they like. if they weight the possible consequences and is happy with it. Either overtake them and turn left ( give allowance when overtaking and turning ) , if not follow them behind and wait for them all clear than turn left lor. If the lane can go straight and turn left then you should either follow behind the cyclist and wait for ur turn to turn left or not overtake him if you have the chance lo. If the lane only for left turn then the cyclist should have moved to the next lane if he is going straight. Don't see whats the difference. Its the same as there is a bus going very slowly on the left lane but you want to turn left. Either you overtake or wait for ur turn to reach the junction. Red light coming up, bus is braking, traffic looks light as only bus and 1 car in the 4 lanes (plus turning lane).
