They can label it as high class "HDB" n discontiuned sure can sell 800psf [laugh] then conclude that nearby Centro selling 1500psf, so they r only half price less the MRT.

While taking comparison, they r the only DBSS around that area so can only take nearby PC as price guide, but its lame but for sure ppl will do that.

Actually infront is a open space car park which is 50% ~ 60% full at night, not empty land. Media takes certain angle to give the viewer its an empty land....

Last time yes , but after they build a car park in between Block 585 & 587. car park was almost empty.

Now only those staying at the DBSS are the one using that car park.

Why? they have they're own MSCP, why choose to park at the open car park?

Cheaper?

The Business Times

DBSS land sales suspended as scheme being reviewed: Khaw

SINGAPORE - Future land sales under the Design, Build and Sell Scheme (DBSS) have been suspended while the scheme is being reviewed, said National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan.

Mr Khaw shared this on Facebook in a message posted on Saturday. 'We are reviewing DBSS scheme. Meanwhile, I have suspended future DBSS land sales,' he said.

'However, a few DBSS land sites sold last year, like the Centrale 8 site, will launch their sales in next few months. These are old tenders beyond my control.'

Responding to a media query, the Ministry of National Development (MND) also said: 'MND/HDB is reviewing the DBSS. Pending the ongoing review, HDB will not proceed with the sale of the Bendemeer Road site originally scheduled in 1H 2011.'

Under the DBSS, developers tender for land and have flexibility in designing, pricing and selling the flats.

DBSS flats make up a small portion - less than 1 per cent - of the entire HDB public housing stock. But they came under the spotlight recently after the developer of Centrale 8, Sim Lian Group, set indicative prices of as much as $880,000 for five-room flats in the project.

The indicative prices created a stir and MND said shortly after that it will be reviewing the DBSS, as part of an overall review of housing policies.

------------

Hmmm.....I wonder whether DBSS was a good scheme.

Saw today new paper on the residents complaining about HDB building BTO beside their Ang Mo Kio DBSS flats.

One say there is a school around how to ensure safety of the children during construction?

One say the dust and noise will affect their environment.

One say the area there is very crowded after the BTO, how to make sure enough amenities for the resident there.

One say should at least wait for 5 years later (MOP) so the DBSS resident can have a choice to move out.

I think they just wanna say, the BTO will affect their DBSS price lar. Just be frank lar!

[laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

Who ask these pple buy these units beside an open patch?

I think park central residence have reasons to be unhappy, especially those who are facing the carpark.

They paid such a high price so that they can get a downtown view... if they had known of the plan that a BTO will be built right in front of them, will they still pay such a premium? Or rather is it still worth that premium? Think it is very unfair for them... HDB should really address this... something is wrong with their planning or intention...

Then again... thats a huge carpark... could have seen it coming... feel sorry for them

Ignorant and stupid people.

They just have to check the URA masterplan to know that the surroundings are zoned for high rise residential purposes.

And they are stupid for thinking DBSS projects warrant better treatment/resale pricing than normal HDB flats.

What?

Yet another comprain from the sandwiched class issit?

First it's abt their inability/difficulty buying new cars due to rising COE.

Next it's about the potential de-valuation of their flats, in the NIMBY issues of home for the aged and child care centers.

Now it's about the potential de-valuation of their newly-bought DBSS units, when BTOs are built next to them.

There is a distinct commonality ...

It's always about their money and 'assets' yah. No?

I, my, ours.

All self-centred, selfish and materialistic!
