Just wanna share one incident which happened over the weekend..

To cut the long story short,I found out that my fuel pump was faulty after diagnosis by one of the WS at AMK Autopoint.

So to replace the fuel pump, the WS charge me $370 (Fuel Pump) + $60 (labour, to install the fuel pump)...these charges are on top of the $60 diagnosis fee..

I was shocked by the price...how can a asian car fuel pump be so expensive....

So I called one of the distributor along Race course road and they charge $240 (Fuel Pump)....

Went to a different WS to change, labour only $40 and now it is good as new...so Total only $280...saved $150....

Very disappointed with the lst WS....somemore it is a reputable WS in AMK techpoint... [thumbsdown]

Hope this does not happen to anyone here...earning money not easy....

I think it will be bad to advertise the WS name here....one hint it is one of the biggest tenant on the 4th floor at AMK Autopoint

I dont understand is the point that why diagnosis is $60 and labour to install fuel pump is another $60?

Install fuel pump is very easy as just need to take out clips and some wires...reconnect it back again...why cant they do it during diagnosis?

dunno how many people has been conned by this WS already.....

i think kanna carrot alr, my WS does not charge diagnose fee. manpower to replace pump, last time is free since i'm doing my servcice there. so i paid 60 for the service manpower portion. seems alot, but include tyre rotation, replacement of bulbs, and pump etc. quite ok i think

Ask around for a few quotes. Sometimes cheaper ones are due to some parts being OEM.

I ever got a quote of $300 diff for timing belt changes due to the parts being OEM except for water pump.

this kind of thing is caveat emptor, buyer beware...

anyway, i always believe that u can chop me only once. then i move on liao...

$60 'diagnostic' fee is fair....only if i choose not to replace the part at the workshop...but if u diagnose and i change it at ur woskshop, why still need to charge a diagnostic fee?

whatever it is, that amk 4th floor wksp can charge whatever it likes... and customers can go if they so choose...as long as everyone happy can liao...

remember bros, kenna chop once, shame on workshop, kenna chop twice, shame on yourself.

Turbocharged

u saved S$150. but u are 100% assured you are using the original part.

not any OEM or chiong parts which many many ws are capable of their dirty tactics w/o u knowing.
