Got a chip and it started to crack about half a inch...went to Glass-Fix and got it fixed yesterday. Impressive. [;)]

Thanks for the recommendation!

As Glassmedic guys were busy today, so I just drove to Glassfix to fix my glass. [laugh]

15mins and all done! And cheaper than what Glassmedic quoted me according to what they saw on the photos I sent to them.

If u think u going to hit the NSHW again, then forget it, unless u totally avoid trucks ahead of u which is quite impossible.

Mine have million chips and even a big dent on bonnet due to some wooden log flying over from dunno where..

Mine was chipped along KJE. And there wasn't even some big truck in front of me :(

Is the chip/crack completely gone? Or still can see? Cos i went to glass medic and what they did is they "fill up" the chip/crack. But you can still see the crack line. So in the end i still going to pay $100 and claim insurance to change it cos selling off car soon and don't want the visible crackline to be deal breaker.

I did mine at Glassfix 2 yrs ago. After everything, there is a faint ballpoint tip mark left. Just like a dirty window. If the chip is not in line sight, you would not notice it.

It was free for me as Glassfix claimed directly from MSIG. If i pay , it was $60 but they claim from issurance co for $80.

you mean Glassfix can claim from our insurance just like claiming the whole piece? from workshop?

I prefer to get it mended rather than replacing the whole windscreen as it only a couple of small cracks.

Hi Bro, my also on directasia...if the crack was small than able to repair was free...if too big than have to change the whole windscreen and need to pay $100 for it..better call them fast and Glass fix will call you to fix the date you want and they will come down to your place to repair it...if small crack like 50 cent size should able to repair...

Hi guys I recently got a chipped while travelling on NSHW in May this year. It was a small chip on the windscreen.

Got it repaired last week but there was still some chip mark on the screen. It does not completely remove the chip 100%.

Is this normal or should I seek other alternatives?

They give me a form to sign and they make the claim directly with MSIG. I dont pay anything at all.

Same thinking, back then, my car was only 2 mths old. I got a small chip therefore prefer to repair it

rather than change the whole windscreen becos the new sealant is not as strong as the factory

fitted ones.

After the repair, can still see a line or 2. But I'm happy with it. As long as the crack is gone, I'm fine with it.

The guy at Glassfix advised me to claim from insurance. But I find it a hassle, and I might have to take leave again. So I rather pay the $55 myself and get it over and done with.

I saw from the posters pasted in Glassfix that they also repair windscreen with scratches. According to the guy who did the repair for me, our windscreen has 2 layers. It is the outer layer that they are repairing.

So I guess you can go ahead to fix it.
