Throttle2 Supersonic January 19, 2013 Author Share January 19, 2013 (edited) Well well, what can i say. 911 is car of the year 2012 by s----s So for those seeking a "better deal" get the boxster for $200k cheaper with just one point less Just in case some of you think the 911 won becos it was up against car which were a fraction of its price, It was also best drivers car 2012 by motortrend. Up against the likes of the aventador, the GTr, camaro, XKR even mclaren and mercyAMG Congrats to remus325 Edited January 19, 2013 by Throttle2 ↡ Advertisement

Kiadaw 6th Gear February 9, 2013 Share February 9, 2013 Since I came back from Porsche Museum from Stuttgart, I cannot help but thinking of getting a Porsche. At first the 991 is like 'Mia' to me, but the more I look at it, the more I love it. I was like the DRL looks wierd, but now I think it looks great. The car just have that timeless look, & grows on you. I thought at first its just because I just went to the museum, (on a side note, don't know where they pick the stuff, the girls all very chio one, not to mention very friendly), but I then went to the Merc museum, then the showroom, but not feeling anything. SOme of the Mercs, especially the AMG/black series cars, cost much more than 911 also, but they also have crazy HP, but its not the same. Now I set a personal target to get a 991 in the next 3 years, but I do not dismissed the possibility of the older 997 or new Cayman. Will see. The 911 bodyshape is timeless, it's been my favorite since i was a boy. Could never forget the froggy eyes look. Just like Classic Rolex watches, they go a long way. Had my first taste of driving one when i was 22. If i was where you are now, i would hv gotten the Turbo already. No need to visit museum. It's really the most daily driveable bona fide Sports car. Kiadaw 6th Gear February 11, 2013 Share February 11, 2013 An extra car is not a high priority at the moment. When I sort out the other priorities (piorities with high cost), I will come back & think about it. The new covette C7 also looks very nice (not out yet though), & cost about the same as a base cerrera s, base on estimated price, & more powerful. The soon to be available s3 is practical, so I can trade in my current one(though dull looking, as its still a sportback) & quite affordable, not to mention comes with AWD, then there is the BMW 4 series, then there is the Cayman. So there is a lot of options. Beside, being a cheapskate, I like to buy my car used, & the 991 is still relatively new & price is still close to new. But I think when I am in the mood, I get a 1:18 scale first. LOL.

Once you have enough to sprint off at any gear and take it beyond most roads, then the feel is actually the most important. So you know deep down, a 911 is a 911, S3, 4er, cayman, etc cant compare. Thats just Life. Not to say that those are not fabulous cars.
Kiadaw 6th Gear February 12, 2013 Share February 12, 2013 ^ I may considered a used Carrera 4S, but I will see, ......or a mini countryman, haha Anyway, a review of the new Cayman s by Steve Sutcliffe. The problem still with the cayman is no 4WD option & only sits 2 people. It will be a good weekend car, but I have my reservation as a road trip car. I still prefer just rear wheel drive, becos it is more raw. 4wd is excellent in road holding but does take a fraction of the fun away. I dont push my car too far so i can live with the non-4 versions.

Problem is every 2 yrs or so, my rear end gets itchy and....sigh haha 2yrs is not that bad, mine happens before 18mths, 9 cars in 13 yrs already But i think it could be cured by my current car. Power torque style pickup speed fun practicality all rolled into one. I really think that this is my best shot towards renewing COE when the time comes. Woohooo.. This thread is really quiet... :) Desprite being a car forum, most threads that doesn't involve COE, FT/FWS or the goverment doesn't get much traffic. I have many new info from the web on Porsche, but seeing how little interested it generate, I did not bother to post them here.
