TMC? I see the cars queuing up to enter the carpark via the car lift, I shake my head. By the time the husband finishes parking his car after dropping off his wife at the emergency department, she may have delivered already. [laugh]

lucky if not in car [laugh] [laugh]

Mt alvernia better for deliveries i hear

Jokes aside, so far it's said that KK has the best facilities (and some say doctors), others say Glengeagles and Mt E have better doctors.

Ultimately, it depends on the size of your bank account.

TS can visit some parenthood forums such as mummysg for more info.

Good to hear some confirmation of KKH from you who is working in this profession. I'm also a first-time dad-to-be, managed to convince my wife to use KKH Private Suite services instead of other private hospitals, even though she is fully covered by her company's medical insurance. We could have gone for the most expensive services, and we don't have to pay for it. [cool]

haha can see you really kancheong spider.

i was first time father also like 19 months ago. like many said, there's not a lot of difference in terms of savings by opting for cheaper choice.

it is still better to pick the gynae and see which hospital he attaches himself to.

my suggestion is go for more experienced gynae. certain less experienced gynae will opt straight for C-Section at the risk of slightest complication.

the cost between vaginal delivery and c-section is quite a big difference. not to mention the harm it could do to your wife with the C-section delivery.

Would recommend John Yam of Acufem Clinic - can call . They will help you with the right contacts

He works out of the hospital beside Botanic Gardens - BUT you can choose whichever hospital you want for the delivery. We went to Mount A (the one near the reservoir) - very very nice and good, would thoroughly recommend.

Normally the "package" will cover the full range of ante natal checkups (i.e once a mnth for first six months, the scans, the tests, then the more frequent ects) then you will sign a "delivery package directly with the hospital.

This was the route we took for our second.

For the first, we went to Private Suite at KK - which is also good (the only reason we changed for second was because we were following the doc, not because there was anything wrong with the service)

One good thing we liked about Dr Yam with the second - we were able to schedule the checkups for after work hours, so wifey and I always went together (he has clinics in Bedok and Woodlands in the evenings).

For Private Suite at KK I went MIA for the appts.

Yes, if compare TMC and Mt A, the latter is better. Mt A rooms are also bigger, and car park is big!

One more thing, Mt A got lots of vending machine to buy snacks and drinks. TMC don't have.

Wow......I was thinking more along the government hospital route......anyway thanks.

Seriously, there isn't much difference in price between private and govt. This is not an everyday event so don't think of the small sum. It is important for your wife to get a private ward if she is going to get a good rest after giving birth. More convenient for you to stay with her as that is the time she need your help most.
