eightyhertz 1st Gear November 13, 2014 Share November 13, 2014 Forgot to mention also, there's normally a TP with a mobile speed camera along BKE, hiding below the Turf Club Ave bridge shortly after the permanent speed camera on BKE heading North to Woodlands... ↡ Advertisement

Benarsenal Turbocharged November 13, 2014 Share November 13, 2014 Ya I saw the new camera today. No more dummy cameras. I hope they remove the PIE one. PIE now six lanes wide, how to capture?
Super7 Turbocharged November 13, 2014 Share November 13, 2014 Regardless the camera is working or not, we should not be speeding at all. Always think safety. Think for your loved ones. Think for others. My loved one always whatsapp me "Faster come home"!!! [sweatdrop]
Super7 Turbocharged November 13, 2014 Share November 13, 2014 sama-sama...that stretch very tempting. Can see very far and very big! Let's say there's a car following you at two-car lengths behind. After you drive pass the camera, if you speed up beyond the speed limit, can the camera detect / take shoot of your rear number plate since the car behind will be blocking the camera? What i usually do in KPE is wait till the car behind is in full view of the speed cam after both us cross the camera.....

I think they shld revise the limit up to 90km/h from 80km/h. Kinda difficult to stay within 80km/h, when some goods vehicle already can hit 80km/h on that stretch.

Watwheels Supersonic November 14, 2014 Share November 14, 2014 Yeah. They are replacing the old film loaded cameras with digital ones as they won't go out of film. Digital cam's data can be transmitted immediately for faster delivery of summons. Ka Ching! LoL...

Super7 Turbocharged November 14, 2014 Share November 14, 2014 You may be aware that most traffic accidents took place within the respective speed limits. So one method to avoid accidents is to travel above the respective speed limits. However, those speed cameras are located where traffic accidents are more common So we should can avoid the camera by slowing down to within speed limit, then accelerate off thereafter. Agree Btw, cte from cbd to amk ave 5, no speed cam, have they added new one?
Acemundo Supercharged November 14, 2014 Share November 14, 2014 yep.....the blur sotong taxi driver in front of me nearly caused an accident when he jammed brake as he discover the new upgraded camera.... I had to do a quick brake also just to avoid hitting him. I look at my speedometer, 90+......still within safe limit.... Hi everyone, (Absolutely had to create a userid to post here. I'm too n00b so I can only reply to posts.) Speed Camera at BKE got UPGRADED today. (The one near Bukit Panjang, before exits to Mandai and Turf Club Ave) Was on BKE driving North towards Woodlands yesterday Wed 12 Nov and they cordoned off one lane in the late morning around 10am with construction vehicles and I saw the old speed camera taken down. On the way back in the evening on BKE driving South from Woodlands, I saw that they installed a shiny brand new speed camera and it's huge! I suspect this one is digital, with LIDAR (laser) built in. Anyway FYI I suspect this camera will be extremely sensitive and trigger happy. Advance warning, I think they will switch it on soon. From what I've been told (by taxi drivers), normally under 10 km/h over, it won't trigger.

Acemundo Supercharged November 14, 2014 Share November 14, 2014 (edited) Uncle scare mah.. His rice bowl what.. scared is one thing......doesn't mean have to jam brake ma........ so many accidents happen because drivers suddenly jam brake upon discovering got erp gantry, no cash card inserted, TP on overhead bridge, stationary speed camera they conveniently forgot etc. a driver must be aware of his speed and road conditions at all time. furthermore that spot has got camera all these while. now see an additional camera should not give him a bad surprise.
