The 5w30 oil got give my ride a bit of extra power too.

Now using 5w40, also quite good.

Guys, when do we use W30 or W40? I am driving a 7 yr old car and saw ntuc got promotion for oil yesterday. Thinking of getting 2 for servicing to last me this yr.

Appreciate some feedback

For new car <3 yrs use w20 or w30 but after >3yrs use w40 better cos the viscosity lower more protection dues to fitting of the pistons seasoning.

Actually it all depend on how long do u change engine oil, my friend change eo every 7k instead of 10k, his 9yrs ride still using 5w30.

Normally guide to oil change is based on 10k or 6month which ever come first. However will also depend on the driver driving habit.

A hard or heavy footed driver will then to change oil early cos dues to degrading of the oil properties over times.

Moderate and smooth driver will keep to the above guide n even can used w20 unlike a hard driver.
