Hmm... BTW, my bad I didn't mention my car's boost has been raised from stock 0.6 max to 1.2 max with an uprated turbo. Do you guys recon the 10w30 recommended by manufacturer still applicable?

 

if stock, yes, just follow the book. perhaps increase the weight as it gets older.

my previous LGT was running on w30 for years without any issue

only at its 5th birthday onwards i started using w40

 

but if u upgraded something, yes, maybe thicker oil as precaution.

i have been told by workshop mech to use w50 for my turbo-charged car.

 

F it...i have been using w40 all this while..and the engine runs great...

 

It depends on whcih turbo car you drive.

 

WRX only needs 5-30 while non turbo Mercedes 200 needs 5-40.

Cranking problem are usually cause by battery or fuel filter, check both.

This few days didn't seem to see this problem.

But how battery or fuel filter can cause this even engine start hot?

The problem appeared when the engine start hot. So spending a few days travel a certain distance

Stop the engine and restart to see whether this symtom persist.

 

This few days seem fine yet to see any of the repeated cracking issue.
