Hi, can I check anyone purchase from Right Car Pte Ltd before?

Just gotten a car from them, in 2 weeks, I went to their workshop twice. My car engine light is on so I sent back to check. It stated oxygen sensor bank 1 malfunction but dealer blame it on the petrol?? Before that, they said they changed fuel pump cos car was jerking very badly.

Aft they change, car felt as if it "hiccup" during complete stop at red light.

Sent back to their workshop, they said they tested no prob and they simply just reset the car system to make the engine check light go off. But next day light is out again.

I sent the car to my own workshop. I'm so surprised that the car has lots of prob.

O2 sensor confirm spoilt but the dealer said the boss is not going to do it for me.

The car front arm control is damaged. Only can blame myself for not requesting for STA evaluation.

Now, the dealer is totally ignoring me.

I've sent him texts 7 items what can the boss do for my vehicle he said none cos I understand some are wear and tear but some confirm is car defect.

It's very terrible because the front tires are worn out totally internally because the front arm control is damaged and I'm lucky both front tires didn't burst while driving the car for 2 weeks!!!

Just a warning to u all

Before transaction, say until everything so good. Paid for the car, drive off, car got prob, it's ur own taiji already cos dealer mention boss did many repair on the car before selling which I didn't get to see any receipt for repair. Request to show me, nothing given

Wah so stressful. Lucky nothing bad happen while driving. Bro, before buy should have asked for car to be sent to your own workshop, the one that found out so many problems. If dealer refuse is mean very big chance big smelly fish.

How much is your repair cost for it to be road safe?

You have your own mechanic but you choose to be lazy. And you never send to own workshop to get everything changed and refreshed after you takeover the car?

Don't know why folks in singapore have too much money and too little common sense. Will grumble and threaten govt over 50 cents increase in erp, but will hand over tens of thousands to someone who they meet for first time who talk sweet and give empty promises.

Why u so trusting? Tens of thousands of dollars plus a heavy loan in your name and you never bother to verify and demand documentation and proof?

You have only yourself to blame.

To all buyers of used cars: expect that you have to pay for wear and tear. Parts do wear out or shut down. Do not be a cheapskate. Used car dealers are not mechanics nor will they spend too much to help.

Bro, u think all dealers so good to let u drive the car out to ur own mechanic? Pls intro me if u know of such dealers.

The car is under their company finance and insurance not ur own name, u think they will allow u to drive away for a long time for our mechanic to see?

My msg here is to serve as a warning to people.

This is a second hand car so of cos wear n tear expected. I'll be sending the car back to Volvo for evaluation then repair.

Those that are wear n tear, of cos I'll fix it and never ask the dealer to do for me.

Only expecting the o2 sensor to be fixed.

Blaming myself that I didn't request for STA evaluation before buying but luckily the tires didn't burst. Front arm control assembly damaged, I suay lor then how?

Now, I'm checking for the last service mileage as we are suspecting that the mileage is tampered.

When we go to ACRA wanting to buy dealer company info, it shows record not found

So this company is alittle fishy...

Thanks for sharing.

Emphatise with your unfortunate experience as I have encountered similar situations when buying used cars.

When I just passed my driving test and blur blur bought a 8 year old car without even negotiating and blur blur paid whatever dealer wanted me to pay without even knowing whether the car belonged to the company, I was very happy without knowledge of what could go wrong. The car lasted till the end without a single problem.

When I became more experienced and went to look for a used car, read all the forum warnings and sharing, wanted to avoid the so called bad dealers, and went to a decent one, negotiated with dealer, and had all grounds covered, including getting free 1 year warranty and mechanic checkup, and finally happily got my car in a fantastic deal.

within 2 weeks, my nightmare started, transmission and multiple small and big problems etc, and then realise warranty did not cover many of these and many other familiar things that others have experienced that we read over and over again in this thread.

The point is that there is an element of luck in buying used cars. Most used car dealers probably don't intend to "cheat". If they know the car is a lemon they probably don't even want them. Perhaps they would appreciate a thread like beware of difficult buyers.

It is true that some dealers have a bad reputation and we should choose those with a long history or case trust ones. But remember, they are all businessmen, when it comes to money, no one will volunteer to give you more. So don't even expect these good reputation companies to welcome your claims without battling an eyelid.

STA evaluation is useful and only a guide for major problems only, many other problems cant be detected. Think AA is much more detailed.

When you see a car with the cheapest price and the lowest mileage, that is too good to be true, then better be more vigilant,

Hope your car problems can be sorted out.

yes, when buying cars(not necessary just 2nd hand, but also cars from PIs), better search every single details and check, and check, and check carefully before ordering and putting money ... just to be safe..

Ok.. It's confirmed the mileage is tampered.

Just asked Agent, mentioned car was last service there in 2012 and mileage was 160,000km

I got the car and mileage is only 89,000.

Ok anyway...

Just hope the car got no major prob. All these wear & tear is part n parcel of used car.

Just hope the transmission don't die on me...

The dealer told me "his boss steady one. If got gear box prob, go back to him. He sure do one."

Now only o2 sensor spoil, he say "my boss say can't already la. He do a lot of things for this car already."

When He only fixed the fuel pump for me. *And the fuel pump spoil just in 2 days after I collected the car..

"I didn't know I so "powderful" can drive car until fuel pump spoil.. "

Guys sorry to disappoint you. I wont disclose how much i traded in my Vios for nor would i hv to justify Citroen as my individual preference or choice.

The point i am trying to bring across is for our other friends out there who might choose Hamilton Autohub and end up in remorse. My advice is to stay away from them, based on my unfortunate dealing with them...

sorry to say this thread already say alot things to beware *BIG BIG and many still never read before signing on the dot and paying $$..

well... caveat emptor ... :ninja:

Nowadays, better to ignore mileage claims unless full servicing records available from AD or direct sellers

cars with tampered mileage can be brought back again to AD for servicing before sale and this can be misleading also

Some dealers may advertise "genuine" low mileage but if there is no proof then hard to believe also.

Maybe 30 years ago, businesses still have integrity won't do anything funny.... but nowadays people are very creative. I think if a greedy dealer detect lemon, all the more they may buy it with good reason to offer super super low price. Later using their good mechanic shop do up enough just for car to be able to run a bit.... can sell like sturdy car liao.... big big profit margin, sure is very tempting business!

Bro, they will not allow.

First thing was, sales guy asked me to offer him a price first before test drive.

Of cos he said if after offering and car performance no good, I can choose not to buy.

2nd day I went back to test drive, ask him y must offer first? Sales guy said cos his boss say he wants to minimize the risk of accident on the road. Cos if car is out, there's a risk of accident. And it's very troublesome for them to claim from insurance.

That's their logic.

Ok anyway an update, we were bugging the company to fix one item. Which is the oxygen sensor. For 2 weeks, they didn't want to do. But constant bombarding them, we have finally come to an agreement I'll pay $200. Quotation is $700+

So sua already.. CNY coming.. All want Heng Heng don't want to bring all these trouble.

The damaged front arm control we will do our own. Ignition coil I would think its normal wear n tear. Transmission flush also like servicing for our part.

my take is... if that dealer don't allow, means likely they know there is something wrong with the car.... so just walk away and find another car.......

so you can bear that in mind the next time you purchase the car
