Pisces69 6th Gear March 8, 2013 Share March 8, 2013 Now I see china made cheap alum cable with copper plating at autobacs. Another cheating game fm mic products. Alumnium not good conductor of electricity. Prob wun work when u need it most.
Pisces69 6th Gear March 8, 2013 Share March 8, 2013 My ex-car's battery from day 1 till I sold the car after 3+ years, no problems at all. I had MF lasted almost 3 yrs. Maint type >4 yrs even. Long ago from japan. That time quality much better. Now so many mic stuff around. All made of crap.

Pisces69 6th Gear March 8, 2013 Share March 8, 2013 High cca is good, up to a certain point. High cca is obtained by making lead plates as large as possible, not necessary thicker, and in many case thinner. However, the larger plate reduce available space at the bottom to collect debris, sludge and fall-outs. If enough conductive material is collected at the bottom, that plate is shorted out. So instead of having 12V, now you have a 10V battery which can't start the engine. Oh ok. My handbook say my battery cca sud b abt 650. So far i get abt cca 550 only. Best so far is global mik fm eng wah. He also got amaron same amh n price but he say a bit too high n might touch my bonnet so he say global better. Vincent did a good job use a back-up battery when he change. Very professional. Next set of tires i prob get fm him too. Price is good.

Global and Rocket are made in the same factory in Korea. Just avoid Globatt, junk battery.

Once a while need to crank twice to start. 2 weeks ago TCM checked and said 82%. Dunno what that mean. Not bad, it's coming to 4yrs soon. My first batt died after 2.5 yrs, changed my 2nd one ard 2.5 yrs later when it's showing sign of weakness and before my road trip to north malaysia. Not worth taking the risk, and it's not too costly anyway.
Throttle2 Supersonic November 22, 2013 Share November 22, 2013 I always drive till my battery flat and then call AA to change. The last time I changed was 4 Mar 2010 when mileage was 116k. Had a 45ah battery for $133. Now mileage 205k and last servicing at 200k TCM said my battery ok. But I got a $10 battery voucher from AA that would expire end Jun. Should I change or wait till it is flat? Till now, there is still no sign that the battery would up lorry. How long more will it go? As usual I would wait till it is flat. But recently, I have been frequenting JB at least once a month and I am concerned that I might be caught with a flat battery with no help from AA and I cant use the voucher. Yup, your nick suits you to a T.

Asked them to check brake pads since first change at 120K, they say still no need Edited January 8, 2014 by Dumb

Might as well change b4 it just dies on u without much warning. CNY coming summore. I can tell when I crank in morning to start car. The sound like a bit slower n straining to start. Another way is when u driving at night n headlights on n u signal left/right n yr speedo n dash lights dim n bright as the flasher works. When I see this I know its time to change battery. Battery abt $100 plus only. Better change since its so old n getting weak.
QQDreamer 4th Gear January 17, 2014 Share January 17, 2014 +1 to bro pieces69. yesterday my car batt just died in the evening when i want to go out. No choice get people to jumpstart and drive to shop in lavendar to replace a new one. Most shops already closed after 8pm. Better be safe than sorry, if your car batter around 1 year old already better replace. Nowadays battery doesnt last long. CNY is coming, you dont wish to get caught in a situation car batt die and in the end spoil the whole day schedule. ↡ Advertisement
