vw car is very attractive in terms of all aspect apart from gb issue. therefore maybe only 6-speed wet clutch is the way to go with minimum complain.

Hi what is the price of the Volkswagen goft now which want is cheaper goft or Jetta I felt like getting one by end of the year when the coe go down below 40 k

Avoid the 7 speeder DSG,1.4,get the GTI if budget allows, using the 'proven' 6 speeder DSG.

I was considering the Jetta as a replacement for our family car, but down at the showroom, the CO expressed more interest in the Golf instead.

Would appreciate feedback from the bros and sis driving the current Golf.

In particular, Internet has a lot of negative reviews about the DSG gearbox. Does anyone driving the Mk 7 Golf have any issues so far?

Thanks in advance.

What car u driving now?

No bro, my mind is not made up. It seems like most of the reviews by car review websites are very positive, yet forum discussions have a lot of negative remarks. That's why I'm hoping to hear from those who actually drive a Mk 7 Golf.

I also don't have $130k to find out for myself first hand who is correct. :D

I have to agree. Somehow whenever I read Torque or the reviews on SGcarmart, I tend to find their reviews of VW's cars a little too glowing. More often than not, I already know the result of a comparison test before reaching the conclusion.

Despite many mechatronic unit changes and software revisions, there are many VW owners out there who are still dissatisfied. Personally I wouldn't go near a car with one of those DSG gearboxes. It's the stress of driving one and feeling that there's a 'time-bomb' below the shift knob. Plus, with the notoriety of the AD's customer service, I can only imagine the frustration of those who have DSG problems.

That said, I do commend the TSI range of engines and the interior of many VW products. But for now, why don't you consider another hatch like the Toyota Auris or Hyundai i30?

guess what attracts ppl to the car is the power output, after feb it would be one of the most powerful hatch in cat A. lol

Abor then how ? No gear engaging....so cannot drive at all. VCS gave him a Tiguan R Line as a courtesy car ! Now his heart is "moving" as he found the Tig pretty entertaining.....

SGcm & local mags always try to let VW glow, .....so as to "balance" against the generally hard truth in forums here & overseas. Is the i30 on 6AT? If so, may be good choice since the Auris is CVT.
