I don't need to consider other evidence before I ruled waddle biased.

how can England have so many great footballers when the only won the world cup once and when their league was highly represented in the champions league, it consists mostly of teams with high number of foreigners.

tha's why after reading the artcle confirms to me his basis is based on flair more than effiency/effectiveness.

how many noticeable flair players have England got since te 80s?

steve macca?paul Gascoigne?joe cole? and whatdid they achieve ?

during waddle's playing days,he is known a bit for flair and dribbling. it is no surprise then that he prizes players of the same style as him over players like becks who makes things look simple. I would take becks over any of these flair England players anytime because a mazy run and showboating does not win titles - it is the ability to help put the ball in the net, even if in the most unspectacular fashion. his pinpoint crosses make it look very easy for strikers like rvn, solsjaekr, teddy sheringham, Michael owen to convert to goals.

Agree on this greatly. RVN become 1/2 the player he is when db7 left.

I mean it is unfortunate England was banned due to this disaster. my then fav everton didn't even get the chance to defend their cup winners cup crown.

but that still doesn't change the fact there are not that many great players in England. to say at least 1000 players in English league better than becks is so disrespectful and biased.

I believed he included himself in the list of 1000.

"he never had a trick" - this underlines the fact that he prefers players with trickery moves over players that effectively leads the ball into the back of the net wthout fanfare

That's why no champions for 3 season after Beckham left.

to be frank, my opinion is Fergie actually spiting his own nose and club's fortunes when he purposely sold becks. at that time he wasn't too happy with becks being influenced by his wife. but that becks gives his all on the field, giving him a little space to listen to his wife is ok. of course many Fergie supporters will say he is right to sell becks but that's only after their crowns after the barren spell. if fergie had not sold becks in a haste, who knows they may have more crowns in their collection.

not forgetting the incident in the FA cup fifth round against Arsenal whereby they lost. fergie blamed becks for it but anyone of us neutral fans would know it is giggs miss of a sitter that killed man u.

Fergie pissed off with him influenced by wife then afterwards accuses him for not listening during team talks.

Becks cannot take it anymore swore at the manager. That was then Fergie kick a boot into his face by accident, then Becks want to beat up Fergie but his teammates stopped him.

So I believe selling Becks is mainly because they can't work together anymore.

was it ever reported he went after fergie? I thought the version I read was fergie accusing him of performing poorly, he retorted back giggs was more abysmal and fergie kicked the boots tht landed on becks face. that may have thrown becks into a tirade but I don't remember him going after fergie physically.

"...Sir Alex moved towards him and kicked a boot that was lying on the floor. "At me? At the wall? It could have been anywhere, he was that angry now. I felt a sting over my left eye, where the boot hit me. I put one hand up to it and found myself wiping blood away off my eyebrow."

He describes how he lunged towards the manager and had to be restrained by first Giggs, then Neville and van Nistelrooy. " Suddenly it was like some mad scene out of a gangster movie, with them holdingme back as I tried to get to the gaffer."

Beckham said his rage lasted for a minute at most and he managed to calm down before being taken to the treatment room to have his wound patched up. Eventually he went back into the changing room, got dressed and started to leave..."

i guess every one has their defination of a great football player, some by trciks, some by goals scored, some by no of games played, some by trophies won etc....

but i have to agree england does not have many great players if compared against the rest of the world

ok haha....

but still, fergie is biased to have make becks the scapegoat in that incident.

I watched that game live and I feel becks had quite a decent game as compared to giggs. and which men can stand it when the boot flew into your face and got cut?

yeah I know......but knowing how subjectivity works, I rather judge on the tangibles like results, assists, goals scored rather than such a subjective yardstick like tricks or flair....

before spain learnt to convert their flair to goals, they were always the trodden-upon team in international football. flair counts for nothng if you have no tangible results to back it up.
