inlinesix Hypersonic June 15, 2015 Share June 15, 2015 Nowadays I don't spend much money on washing machine. Big and cheap is what I look for. So it's usually top loader at the lowest price. Last time, spend $2k for Bosch front loader, now spend $400 for Samsung top loader. The cheap wm will probably last about the same number of years. My last WM cost more than $1k & it lasted > 10 yrs. ↡ Advertisement
Kb27 Supersonic June 15, 2015 Share June 15, 2015 i think so too some stuff just aint worth to buy too exp Yeah, it all boils down to price. Fridge, tv,..they do about the same thing as the cheapest one., with the premium giving you a little bit more., but can cost heck of a lot. As buyers, we should see where that price/features lines crossed and buy near that point. And then technology keep advancing. The premium you paid for a few years old, is now the base model. Kb27 Supersonic June 15, 2015 Share June 15, 2015 My last WM cost more than $1k & it lasted > 10 yrs. My first wm, Electrolux bought by my mom cost $600 and last about 20 yrs. $600 is a lot of money in those days. I got tired of replacing the broken handle and replaced with a Bosch. That Bosch is costly and didn't make it to 10 yrs. The struts keep wearing out and the wm jumps around. Got rid of it, too costly to keep changing struts. Might as well get a new one. Then I pay lesser for a F&P. Last me another 7~8 yrs maybe. It broke down due to the electronics and pump motor. 2 similar part replacement and I knew it's time to replace. And bought the latest and cheapest Samsung top loader. Fingers-crossed, it'll last me another few years. Although I like front-loader, the price is just too much over a top-loader. The cost of electricity vs the cost of the inverter premium. Inverter fridge might be useful. My fujitsu inverter aircon is now leaking internally. It's still working, so I don't bother to replace it yet. I didn't track the electricity saved. Bought it bcuz the price was closed to a traditional single-split. dont know whether an inverter washing machine vs an non inverter will make any difference? I think it comes back down to the price difference. How much more do you pay vs the electricity you can potentially saved...before it breaks down ? Thanks for the link. It comes down to how much premium you pay vs the electricity cost saving Usually, we use wm at full load, so varying loads saving is not important to me. The leak is just the condensed water. I just used a container to collect the water...like a leaky house under the rain. Difficult to fix bcuz it's coming from inside the fan unit and not the discharge hose.

Kb27 Supersonic June 15, 2015 Share June 15, 2015 if you have water vaccum cleaner, can connect to discharge hose, then turn on the power should do the trick Just did it. Blackish water came out. But the "leak" is not from the discharge hose, it's further up before hose. Maybe a small tray or something collecting the water is leaking.

Maybe a small tray or something collecting the water is leaking. I think condensed water gets formed up in the room unit, then flow back to the compressor, then the discharged pipe If there is any blockage, leak will occur But if the pipe at any point crack, leak will also occur When I asked you to suck the discharge pipe, my theory is the pipe chocked By clearing the pipe, things should be ok I forgot one thing, turn on the aircon before sucking the pipe The more condensation water, the cleaner the pipe There is another theory There is a small tray collecting water in the room unit. If it is not properly connected to the discharge pipe, of course leak Good luck man But that's the fun of diy

Strange hor bro, how come charbors prefer top load and guys like front load? Is it linked to kamasutra thingy I wonder? This direct drive thing in washing machine is damn quiet. Just a quiet and low humming sound, I have to keep checking to make sure the washer is working....wah damn blardy quiet man, macaam stealth mode! This is good to use in the field during war. Enemies will not know you washing your clothes. Gooda! TVT Supercharged June 16, 2015 Share June 16, 2015 top load use more water and cause laundry to wringle? Yes, that is usually the perception. Probably cos the tub is bigger, and the spinning is stronger... ↡ Advertisement
