LTA say one.....how ah how ah?

Averaging the OMV would not solve the problem, as it can still change over time, albeit at a slower pace. For example, from January to August, the OMV of the Honda Civic 1.6L fluctuated between S$15,911 and S$21,736; and for the Volkswagen Beetle 1.2L, between S$18,918 and S$20,919.

I am skeptical abt the changes in COE. As the surge of luxury brands is due to pricing between the mass market & luxury is not much of difference but enjoy higher OMV. The natural logic would be going luxury.. But with this classification. Everyone goes for mass market, then prices goes up.. I think despite that ppl be still be buying no matter what the outcome.. I think I might be one of them but strive to get one or renew current as one of my relatives often like to talk/compare of wealth & affluence etc.. and the car is one of them to symbolise..

so in the end ppl gonna pay more for a shittier car than pay less for a luxury car.

It's the same for usb flat, we are paying much more for smaller flat , we are paying much more for a smaller portion of chicken meat rice.. so I think pay more for lesser power is quite inline with all their policy making decision.... [laugh]

Notice the new COE changes is effective Feb 2014... They can do it in Nov, Dec, Jan but it's in Feb.

In Nov/Dec this year, LTA will announce Feb14-July14 COE quota projection.

Anyone wanna bet that the number of COE for Feb14-July14 is gonna be lesser than this year's?

I think next year quota will increase since there is no crawl back from yr 2008-2009 over supply.

My guess is LTA choose to do it next Feb because the quota will increase so they can claim their new policy works. In actual fact, its the increase of quota that does the trick.

this is jus typical corporate window dressing, which I always do when I hv to make presentations to the bosses to emphasize my reasoning. I wil inevitably choose the best, skewed or not, examples to support my decision making.

but in their case they say cannot use average but then they dun even hv a best example to support their logic. give up man. <_<

This is what they do best... Similarly for ERP stats, always do their measurements during before school holiday and after school holiday... Of course general car speed will be different...

Hri Kumar slams COE tweak, urges push for cleaner cars

Bishan-Toa Payoh MP says cap on engine power disadvantages cars with more efficient engines

The change to the Certificate of Entitlement (COE) system announced last week was a "lost opportunity" for the Land Transport Authority (LTA) to "articulate a meaningful strategy or provide a clear vision" that Singaporeans could support, said Member of Parliament (Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC) Hri Kumar Nair yesterday.

Instead, the move to impose a cap on the engine power of cars under Category A
