Tire Valve Protector

Two of my tire valves are missing this silver "protector" type ring shell which wrap around the valve, just below the cap. I believed the tire mech forgot to put them back after my last wheel rotation job a month ago... [:(] And I didn't realise it was missing till only recently.... [:|]

Question is: is this "protector" thing important to have? If don't have any safety issues?

The valve (with no "protector", fully expose the valve body) just below the cap:

they're probably 2 different types, no?

No, all the same type of valve. I change all 4 valves at the same time when I changed all 4 tires, sometime last year...

The cap is meant to protect the valve from water n dirt. Without it yr valve cud spoil earlier.

haha go any carpark and unscrew,

Ya if I catch anyone stealing my valves, I wil just break their fingers. [furious]

Just go JB and change the whole valve to chrome plated steel.

cheap @ RM10 each only.

Got so cheap meh? I doubt so. Or maybe u can recommend where to change for RM10 ea?

Good to have, acting a stopper and lock when the cap meet the sleeve.

But u also buy tires from them, right?

If I just walk in n ask to change to the metal valve type, I doubt got RM10ea. Unless ty use a cheepo type which not lasting.
