Blade07 1st Gear November 6, 2015 Share November 6, 2015 Thanks for your prompt response. Free servicing lasted for 1 year. After a year, be it, if you were to service workshop outside or in BM, there still a possibility that they pin point this problem to "wear" and "tear" or life time of the consumable items. The cost may be passed to me. true. better get it settled asap. ↡ Advertisement
elmoguy 2nd Gear November 6, 2015 Share November 6, 2015 (edited) Sound bad. Did you bang table to the supervisor/manager/director/ceo of BM? Or alternative, tell them you will go social media and broadcast to whole world. And the joke of the day which makes me unforgettable is that: (1) You cannot put rubber floor mat in your car as after washing the mat, humidity resulted in the smell. My previous car of 10 years whereby I washed my floor mat weekly, and doesn't have such issue. (2) Before you reach home, turn on the air con to full blast to get rid of smell on a daily basis. My previous car of 10 years, doesn't need to do this. This make me wonder why the car is so WEAK. Instead of the car taking care of my comfort and I need to take care of the car comfort INSTEAD. This is ridiculous. Im sure its nothing to do with floor mat.

There's a few YouTube videos out there that explains why you get the moldy smell and fixes for it. Esp true for our high humidity climate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzYlp9dm7AI Thanks Djcoolmax for the information. I don't know how effective this product is and from the video, it doesn't or may stop the problem temporary. If this product is effective, BM will not spend 3 days to work on my car previously. My friend, Honda doesn't have this issue. Moreover, if BM were to pin point the problem to high humidity, then no only my car, but all cars in Singapore will have faced this problem!!! Seems to me either design flaw or manufacturing defects.
Spinelli_ck 6th Gear November 6, 2015 Share November 6, 2015 (edited) i have not had such problem in all my previous and present cars, including Altis. it is always a good practice to turn the aircon off and let the fan run for about 5 minutes. Piyopico Supercharged November 6, 2015 Share November 6, 2015 Can you guys share what will be a reasonable FC to expect for 50% city and 50% highway driving. 14km per litre easily? What about 80% city driving. 12km possible? Thanks.
Mkl22 Supersonic November 6, 2015 Share November 6, 2015 the smell is on the heater coil. Not on the evaporator. turn your aircon to max heat and off the compressor. the smell should be gone for a while. do you also use air fresher or similar? these also cling onto the heater coil and causes these smells. akow Neutral Newbie November 8, 2015 Share November 8, 2015 (edited) I only clocked 10.8. Lousy!!!!Same prob. Initially only clock 9.6.I went back to BM bang table. Then they use GTS to re-calibrate all the four fuel injectors thro my car ECU. That improved slightly to 11. But after some monitoring, it got stuck at 10.8 to 10.9. Service centre hav no idea why & refer all tbe captured data for the car to their technical team at HQ, but no abnormality found. xian...
