What a coincidence! I am due to renew my insurance too and got the same quotes from C&C for $1900 before rebate and from AIG for $1542. So like you I thought AIG quote was after $500 rebate but an AIG call centre guy just called me today and said the AIG quote is BEFORE the $500 rebate so the actual insurance cost will be $1042 after rebate. The rebate will be sent by cheque in owner's name a few weeks later. Seems that C&C made a mistake in sending out earlier quote. Suggest you give a call to AIG to clarify if that is the case for you too.

At $1042, having AD handle repairs/damage and the 36 month new for old coverage makes it quite compelling.

excellent news. at that price no need to think already, just stick with AIG

The MB insurance tie up w AIG is quite a good package. No siam siam dodgy excuses when it comes to claims too. Sent to Pandan Gdn n they settle everything incl giving me another MB as a loan car. I continued to renew for 3 yrs until i sold mine.

Anyone heard that the new facelift version of C class sedan, coupe and cabriolet (all together) is coming this Aug/Sep?

Fl w205 will come with all new engines and an updated command system.

Why do you need to push your new Merc ?

If you have an issue with a dead car, it's best to call C&C or at least some mechanic familiar with this car.

I think the Park Brake engages automatically. You need to turn on the engine to go to Neutral.

Wow!  That's very good!  Did you call them to get a quote or was that the one sent by mail?

they sent by mail and it was a higher quote similar to yours.

then the next day they called me out of the blue and asked if i'm the only driver etc then they revised the quote downward. dunno why they suddenly call me also. maybe they read this forum?? LOL

That's very helpful to know that they have some flexibility in their quotes.  Thanks.

Another tip: If onli u and ur wife drives the car and both above 40yrs, AIG can give further discount

Great advice! AIG called me today and I told them to lower the quote based on driver's age, etc.. Apparently, they can quote different premium rates for drivers above 30, 35, up to 40.  Downside is if anyone below that age limit drives the car and gets in an accident, the car is not covered which is not an issue for me. Managed to save 15% on my premium. Thanks!

No worries mate. Glad to hear u saved some $$. At the end of the day, the MB Insurance tie up w AIG is very competitive and probably cheaper than others if u compare equivalent coverage. My claims experience has been great w them w no quibbles n they met the policy obligations by providing a loan MB while the the car is being repaired at Pandan Gardens.

Obviously, i hv no commercial interest in them but good things must share n support

Yeah, you are paying for peace of mind, which is important for such a large investment.

Go cheap and pray nothing happens, otherwise the claim process can be significantly more convoluted..

Is this Mercedes Insurance underwritten by AIG?
