Everton have completed the signing of Aiden Mcgeady from Spartak Moscow. An announcement should be made soon.

This Jan window a bit quiet for Pool. So many players linked, but none even closed to signing

Ya tough going. Would have tied up one if not for Basel to shift goal post and demanded for more.

After flirting with a couple of DMs, now is likely back to M'Vila where negotiating with Ruben would not be easy.

Will drag on for this window I feel

Pool ended talks with Rubin Kazan last week regards Mvila and now Napoli have entered fray with a loan with option to buy in summer offer. Yet to find out what Pool will going to do next.

Also hearing Pool is upping the bid for Salah to £12m, matching Zenit offer.

not worth IMO, for someone who has not shown the consistency yet

they should go after mvila more than salah. if i remember correctly, mvila wont cost a lot right? n since zenit wanna pay more, let them see if salah wants to join.

agree. We need reinforcement in centre mid more than attacking player, since Sturridge will be back soon. Of course get both more ideal lah [grin]

Hardball Ruben want £22m for M'Vila.

Salah holding out for LFC. £9m was our offer and we usually quite firm. If we really pay more to match Zenit's offer, only shows how much BR wants him.

Salah will take some weight off Sterling. Also, with him and Sterling together, can bring Coutinho to the middle in his favourite N10 role. So tactically, Salah gives BR options. We could have this option if Moses doesn't suck this much. Shocking from him really.

DM is a priority I strongly believe. Options running out.

They buying M'Vila then is to flip for profit. So you are right.

22m for a DM might not be money well spent. I wont be surprised that BR will walk away. max 15m for me. DM is a problematic position as we only have Lucas who is a natural DM. In crunch games, esp away fixtures, whereby we need to sit tight behind the ball, we need to play 2 natural DMs...

Sterling has the potential but can be inconsistent in games, esp crunch games. Therefore, he does need competition to keep his socks up. If Salah can come around these prices, I think it might not be a bad idea.

errr, Lucas is not even a natural DM -_- He's effective but not imposing enough IMO

he is that good but due to inflation.. PSG got alot oil $$... if not normally 25M could do it..

Juve will laugh all the way to the bank for him.. free transfer hahaha

sterling still only 19 you know??

pool is setting them young and could be another "arsenal" in a few years time should the right talent be spotted and given chances...

if pool is to buy another winger, i feel that someone as young n good as sterling will b ok. on current form, sterling deserves a first team spot. but, pool must not play him too much at risk of burning out. so, if there is someone similiar to him, they can replace each other. both will get enough play time to develop, but also will b happy enough to b a sub.

if pool is to buy an established expensive winger, sterling's progress will b halted n pool will waste another quality youngster.

Too many definition liao. If we just go strictly on the role which they play, Lucas is a DM. Natural or not, I reserve my comment since he was converted to that role by Rafa.

Imo, Lucas can do the job for BR as the recycler as his technical skill is there and decent passing. What he lacks, that I feel is his physical presence and thus like what you say, not imposing enough.

To further improve BR's 1-2 midfield triangle, a more mobile and imposing DM is needed. Someone like M'Vila will be good

FSG like the Arsenal model anyway. That's why they chosed BR who had extensively worked with youth team setup previously.

I am not worry about BR not giving chance to youngsters. I am more worried that he gives them chances too hastily. Eg, Smith vs Chelsea. He is clearly not ready for that match.

Real Madrid open to loan offers for Morata whos in search of more regular football. They will accept a loan fee of around £1.7m.

Rubin Kazan newly appointed manager Rinat will meet with M'vila next week to discuss his future but player still wants a move to Pool.

Hopefully things will start moving next week. Apparently, M'Vila under their new executive structure & manager is £10m.

50% discount. Lol
