Picanto 3rd Gear February 25, 2014 Share February 25, 2014 can always disable it I saw this feature work in an aunty driving a 7 series. its super irritating.Imagine having to always restart your PC by pushing the restart button. I dunno. I feel uncomfortable with the idea

Super7 Turbocharged February 25, 2014 Share February 25, 2014 Just go and remove that blardy function from the authorised workshop Just curious:- when it's in 'off' mode in a traffic jam or long red light on a hot day, does the aircon compressor still run? Though I dun have this feature, I also cast the same doubts. My 92 car has half the system:- it goes OFF when I stop at red light, but I must manually restart it when green light comes on!!!! Something is better than nothing!!

Air con still on, but after awhile will turn hot, then the engine will start by itself to power the air con again. That's for jaguar, not sure about others. Nzy Twincharged February 25, 2014 Share February 25, 2014 Just curious:- when it's in 'off' mode in a traffic jam or long red light on a hot day, does the aircon compressor still run? For my family's car yes. Everything still running normally. But if stop too long the engine will start again even if not moving off yet.

Caravan 5th Gear February 26, 2014 Share February 26, 2014 I know of many who off it immediately after starting car. Such an irritating feature. Does it have to be disabled manually each time you start the car? Cannot off it permanently? Sounds like a hassle. My 92 car has half the system:- it goes OFF when I stop at red light, but I must manually restart it when green light comes on!!!! Something is better than nothing!! LOL. Chiawy 1st Gear February 26, 2014 Share February 26, 2014 Only blower still work,A/C compressor is off. Confirm for my Honda Insight, when at stationary stop, the engine will shut off. A/C blower blowing but on hot sunny day can feel the cool air from the air con temperature start to increase. When the car start moving again, the engine will start up and air-con start to feel cool again.
Derrickc 1st Gear February 26, 2014 Share February 26, 2014 Just wanted to ask owners of cars that came with Start/Stop system,do you off it everytime you start your car.? The only times that I off my ECO is when I am in a long traffic jam at the immigration.
Cznoob 3rd Gear February 26, 2014 Share February 26, 2014 Seems somewhat contradictory that people switch off their start/stop function in jams. Car manufacturers designed it for this purpose right??
Vinceng Turbocharged February 26, 2014 Share February 26, 2014 With this stop-start feature, aircon compressor also stops working and the air vent blows out room temperature air, which can make the cabin hot during the day.

Actually car mfg should use electric A/C compressor for cars with start/stop system...so that A/C will still be cold when the engine has stop. Kangadrool Supersonic February 26, 2014 Share February 26, 2014 (edited) It's just a gimmick and to bypass regulatory requirements on greenies and emission standards. Colin03 4th Gear February 27, 2014 Share February 27, 2014 I dislike this feature too when I collect my new car BUT you can control your brake pedal to stop this on/off of the engine. You can give a try if it work on your car. Do not step on the brake pedal too hard once the car is stopped.
Gs_1984 1st Gear February 27, 2014 Share February 27, 2014 Y would u want to off that function? Helps me save quite a bit of money in fuel pumps. In fact if the start/stop function did not kick in at a traffic light I get annoyed sometimes. ↡ Advertisement
