Honda Vezel

That one ya. But I think it doesn't really give you much other info like configuring the car settings right? Then it's not considered MFD imo.

I see. Oh ya, in this aspect there's no frill for vezel. But i was considering kia too but in the end I choose vezel because it is jdm, honda engine, power to weight ratio, resale value, well quipped with practical functionalities and reliability.

I think Vezel has something similar but just not as multi function. Check out the display on the right which is not very obvious.

That's what I'm referring to. Just trip computer, doesn't count as MFD to me.

...still waiting for the time all cars have nice swee swee HUD. I want to have a HUD so don't have to look down for speedometer but only Peugeot or Citroen DS5 have... or Mercedes-Benz/BMW if you got the $$$$$

But whether you want to have a MFD depends on you. I'm tech savvy and like to have gadgets that tell me everything I can possibly want to know... so I like to have MFD. Others love the no-frills experience of some cars and I understand... I also want to enjoy a no-frills motoring sometimes... but on a day-to-day basis I would prefer a tech-laden ride [drivingcar]

Since you guys are on this topic comparing the Kia Forte K3 and the Vezel, allow me to do a quick run down since I'm quite well informed with the Forte :)

We use the latest Forte SX Sport model as comparo

Advantage Forte SX Sport has over the Vezel:

- factory HIDs and factory sunroof.... well obviously LEDs is the future but HID still wins in terms of absolute illumination distance and beam spread... for now la.

- Rear aircon vents.

- Dual zone climate control with LG Air purifier built in.

- Power driver's seat with 2 memory settings.

- heated front seats, vented for driver as well

- Full suite of controls on the steering wheel including CC, audio, Bluetooth, trip computer, menu selection

- Semi OEM integrated large screen HU with GPS, reverse cam, WMA, MP3 audio. This unit is local fitted and made in China, but its designed for the Forte and it fit perfectly in dash. No ugly 2DIN unit that sticks out from the dash.

- Forte offers conventional parking brake lever vs Vezel push button parking brake, The lever allows handbrake turns easily... hehe ok this point is silly... moving on. :)

- Speedometer not limited to 180km/h... not that you can drive faster than 180 everyday in SG.

- Overall quieter cabin.

- Conventional torque converter 6AT... I still don't think CVT is robust enough for heavy duty, long term use.

- Paddle shifter

used to like forte, but after vezel came out, my interest switch to vezel. It seems that forte is getting more and more complicated electronic devices, I will be concerned about its reliability. Would prefer something simple and straight forward.

Neutral Newbie

Hi all.

Long time lurker but first post.

Got my Vezel X earlier this month and already felt comfortable driving the car since was mentally prepared after picking up all the tips shared in here.

Things I have noticed about the Vezel but may have missed out in the threads.

- the meter showing avg km/l actually takes idling state into account.

I watched my avg km/l drop from 14 to 12 while waiting to pick up someone.

- quite a few times the engine stop doesnt happen even when I dont disable it. I have a habit of immediately pushing into neutral gear upon stopping but I dont know if its the steering moving or the neutral gear causing it. (I have a heavy brake foot)

- during the engine stop, the following action starts up the engine

releasing the brake pedal

Slight turn of steering wheel

switch from neutral to drive mode

- Overall quieter cabin.

- Paddle shifter

For cabin quietness, have you actually tried sitting in a Vezel? No offense, honest question only! I haven't test drive either unfortunately [blush]

For paddle shifters... I thought Vezel come with them? To emulate a 6-speed...

Mazda3 got too right?.

I think it has a small one on the right side for standard model (left side is digital tacho)... but I'm not sure how multifunction. The Deluxe/Sport have analogue tach with digital speedo in the central dial, but the left & right side are info displays. I can't recall what they can show, but I know on the larger CX5/M6 which use triple-barrel designs, the right tube is a MFD.

If you referring to HUD, yep yep, Mazda 3 is the cheapest car on market with a HUD. Only "B&B" model I can think of with one... Though I find its implementation could be better.

Vezel S version got paddle shifters. As for cabin quietness, it will not impress. If want to compare, not as loud as the following: altis, vios, lancer, jazz, city, sx4, subaru xv, impreza. My opinion only. Deps a lot on your tyres. If you have quiet tyres, the cabin is ok. I changed mine and it work wonders. But quite a few vezel owners did do SP. To me, sound proofing cam be enhanced aftermarket. What cannot be changed is the reliability. Henceforth I still stick to vezel. I still like the display when engine is started. Not to mention i will choose vezel aircon display over others anytime Edited by Andyngps

Hi fellow forumers,

I am now encountering a terrible experience with a particular PI. I put a downpayment for a Vezel X from them in Mar at a time when the COE dip momentarily - they are supposed to deliver in end May as per contract but now they are now giving a lot of excuses for not delivering.

I think they are using gangstar tactics to either get me to top up or walk away from a deal which they are not making good money even though they have earlier committed!

Have any forumers encountered something similar and any advice??

Tks in advance!

if you bought guaranteed without top up then you have a case..otherwise, your COE bid is non guarantee....they are not gangsters, just that you never read what you signed..

If you feel not right, you can pull out of the deal..but wait...will they forfeit your deposit for breaking the contract?

Thanks.

No offense to my question I hope but how was your attitude when you approached your PI about this?

If you approached them with the "want to make things work" concept, things should typically work out :)

What do u mean by "want to make things work" concept? I would believe that since the buyer/seller agreed the price, and buyer has paid the deposit, seller should deliver as promised.

I have a colleague who is experiencing same situation, she paid for guaranteed coe some more.
