I'm interested in which PI offers no-loan without penalty too. I checked with a few PIs, one doesn't have penalty but their price is slightly higher than others. The other 2 PIs had 2K and 4K penalty respectively. I went for the 2K one.

simple.. is because the Vezel generated alot of interest and only PI brings in.. so potential buyers find this place as the only option to gather infos b4 making the hard decision to sign n book one.

If the official agent were to bring in.. then you won't see so many newbies here.. why would they come here if the official trusted agent is also offering the same Vezel.. I for one would hv gone there.. further more.. there's lotsa first timer dealing wif PI and worried sick.. so to gain confident on which PI to book.. they came here.. i'm one of them.. but hv been a silent reader till recent that i registered here to share.

I've booked 1 and delivery in dec/jan after gaining much confident. someone, a senior, even challenge me to post and show the contract paper that I signed to prove that I'm a buyer and not a PI. lol 😁

Yes, min loan is 50% at 2.28% interest and was approved the next day. price at 109k guarantee when car arrive to our shore. no top up. trade-in my 10 yo CRV 1k above paper value and they arranged a rental car on the same day of handing over. just fyi.. after going to a few PIs, I gathered that all PIs offered the same basic goodies and upgrades. additional depends on how you bargain. don't waste time bargaining for price discount.. you won't get it. just try ur best to get more freebies throw in.. tks.

Very true. Right now this forum has 1.5 Million views.

And Yes if KM did bring in this model, no need to really come here for info.

Too many unreliable PI in the market and some even got scammed with their money.

For sure there will be some genuine cases, but most of the newbie posts were stating how good their pi was or how good a deal they got. These mentions do not sound like a research post. No offence bro but even a contract cannot prove much. I just felt that very few newbies will just sign up and come here to post the deal they got instead of asking more on which pi to trust.

Actually the penalty i feel is a facet. I can always quote the price slightly higher and then offer discount to someone who takes loan, and inist on no price icrease if no loan..guess it deps on how the pis do their pricing.

Hi All, Sometime ago I posted a website link from a Japan car exporter. They claim some PI in Singapore also buy through them. I have also made a booking with them for a Vezel S. Factory price for Vezel S I am told is Y1,750,000 which includes shipping and insurance (this is OMV) but I had to pay higher as you pay dealer price. I believe all PI have to pay dealer price. It is simple impossible as a PI or individual to buy direct from factory as it will damage Honda's dealer network. So Honda factory only sells direct to their authorized dealers who have to sell at an agreed price range to PI or individual. So basically I am paying about Y2,400,000 but with the Yen gaining so much I forsee OMV shooting up 5% since last week.

Anyway, I am not doing this purely to save money but also to get a better understanding of the car market. As you all know dealing with PI and even AD can be a pain and the job they are doing is in IMHO not much value add to it. So I will keep you all posted on my journey of self import and all cost involved and see if it is worthwhile. I still need to secure COE which I am aiming at low 50's. My car should ship in 8 weeks I hope. We shall see.

I have another question... i remember there's a way to tell whether a PI is a Direct Importer or not... some invoice or bill thing.. what is it called? I want to double check that cos every PI will claim they are Direct Importer, which cannot be lah!

I think it's called "bill landing"?

I agree, that's why I didn't go with the no-penalty PI, because their price is even higher than if I had paid penalty.

Thing is usually the price we see are for those that take loan, so the feeling is that there is an extra price increase (hence "penalty") for not taking loan, as opposed to an advertised price then getting a discount for taking loan/no price increase for no loan. Don't know if I make sense here, but the "feeling" is different, haha. The price you pay may end up being the same, but for me, I do feel penalized and that it's unfair.

Hi all,

Saw the Vezel on the road a few months back. Really like the car and went to do more research on it. Cut things short, I made my purchase in Jul and now waiting for the delivery of the car. Very anxious about it!

I am a first time owner of a car. Currently sourcing for insurance quotations. May I ask will there be any concern if my PI workshop is not part of the approved list of workshops from my insurance company. Say I had an accident and had to go the insurance company's workshop to repair. How will this affect my existing 3 yr maintenance and warranty by my PI workshop?

If there are practical concerns on this, then maybe I would have to get a policy that allows me to visit any workshop (which would include my PI workshop).

Would you all recommend getting a insurance policy that allows us to go any workshop in Singapore or just a list of approved workshops by the insurance company is sufficient?

Thanks

Can anyone help me on this? thanks a lot

Hi Guys,

I want to check if it is normal for PI to put your car in the showroom for customer viewing while waiting for vitas? I realise I had my car being put in the showroom without our permission. Is it normal practice?

Majority buyers will not go DIY because a lot of hassles, no time, working at office 9-5, no experience in dealing with car stuff, no network of friends in automotive industry and high chance of hitting problems along the way (which requite extra effort, time and energy again). Yes, anyone can just use the internet to do research and all. But base on my experience, no matter how much I research (travel, products, gadgets, home fix), things always don't turn out the way it would or should be. Lots of trial and error and remedy.

Unless of course I'm retired, so rich don't have to work, collect rental on properties and a keen interest to experience bringing the car myself.
