Yes, loan car is complimentary. TC has already ordered a new CVT transmission, and if after running the analysis for a few days is still unable to arrive at an acceptable conclusion, they will replace the entire transmission in order to be sure. Down time will be at least 2 weeks as need to wait for its delivery.

Sounds serious. I do observe the engine is revving higher rpm in the morning. But it's only for a short period, ~ less than a min but no shudder experienced. 

 

Keep us updated on the remedy TC is taking

 

As long as no shudder it should be fine :-)

 

Power loss and shuddering is a common problem for Nissan CVT a few years ago, situation should already been much improve so perhaps is just my luck. I take it as blessing in disguise, problem surfaces early may be better than finding out 6 months later....

Should had asked for change of car instead. Old chinese saying is problem never travel alone

 

Not sure if anyone has hear of cases of AD change a new car before?

So far haven't heard of any AD who will change the whole car after registration.

Try asking for extension of warranty on gearbox beyond the 5 years, maybe one more year, for all the inconvenience and peace of mind needed especially happening immediately out of the showroom. . Depending on how much "aggression" you show they may oblige. A friend got it previously for his Cefiro  many years back when his gearbox had to be replaced  into 2nd year of ownership.

So which car have you narrowed your choices to?

 

We are rather keen on x-trail to replace our current qashqai, as we had a good experience with nissan. But also looking out if there are other choices.

Outlander was on my shortlist too. It was the best bang for the buck considering it's size & engine cap. At least at first glance.

 

But I chose XT. Main reason is the concern on fuel consumption for 2.5L & the not so impressive specs. The interior of the car is also very dated compared to XT. Also, I use the 3rd row seat once a week at most, so no concern on the tight 3rd row of the XT.

No lah, you and me just have slightly different liking than those didn't go for adventure series. I really like it. Saw some on road and I think there are more than 2 in this thread. I think you pay more than my $120K. Who else adventure series?
