Evillusion Supersonic May 8, 2014 Share May 8, 2014 yup, even for spork cars like WRX........ People just don't realise that it takes quite a lot braking distance even in stop-start traffic. That's why there are many rear-ending cases. i really feels uncomforable when there are a stretch of cars giving each other 1-2 metres allowance each while driving....i try to change to another lane or gibe myself a bit longer distance from the car in front. I scared to touch someone's butt in an accident! Maybe my brake sustem is not tokkong enuff.....! ↡ Advertisement
Qpik Supercharged May 8, 2014 Share May 8, 2014 Even not my fault I will opt for private settlement for sure. Why give chance for insurance company to raise my premiums? You wonder which side they are on? LoL...$$$$ side of course. Sometimes, not own fault, suggested pte settlement. The other party die die want to report also use. That's why it never benefit any drivers for reporting! Not at fault driver - Waste time to report, waste time to send car for report, penalised for reporting. At fault driver - lose on NCD and all of the above. Insurer & car workshop - Gain more $$$ for reporting.
Cavver 4th Gear May 8, 2014 Share May 8, 2014 (edited) not true.....claimed once 14yrs ago for $3500, my premium has been increasing yr after yr...... I have maxed the available discounts (NCD 50%, Merit 5%, Loyalty 15% etc) and yet still have to pay $800 this yr for my 9 yr old car..... btw: i am 39 yrs old.... If You are serviced by an agent you should press ur agent to review on the increased in premium ( Direct or thru bank one LLST loh) Ps : like Kangadrool said, your car age and model may affect the premium. Ben5266 Supercharged May 8, 2014 Share May 8, 2014 2 years 3 accident even if 100% not your fault also shows that you have problem driving defensively. Unless you offend a lot of ppl and they deliberately want to bang you. ... please teach me... how to drive defensively when your car is stationary at traffic light junction and a joker ram you from behind... how? I actually saw the car coming from the rear mirror... and could not do anything!

Unless you offend a lot of ppl and they deliberately want to bang you. You ever been in a situation whereby it's broad daylight, 11 am, light traffic, you stopped at the traffic light upon Red (not the first car) and after about 30secs, some van came driving along and rear-ended you? I did, and perhaps I should not have stop when traffic light is Red then - that would be defensive driving eh? Anyway, let TS describe in detail before you even want to jump on him how about that. :)
Ming99 1st Gear May 8, 2014 Share May 8, 2014 Better one yet - Car parked in MSCP, drunk driver lost control of car going up slope and crashed into stationary car. Car is parked - No one is in the car. Because the joker jammed up the entire mscp; ppl called TP. TP came, breath test the driver and arrested on the spot. Yes, an errant driver was eventually fined and banned - one less idiot on the road. Insurance side how? Eat ownself because drunk driver Defensive driving?? bulls**t cause there is no one inside the car. So please ...even an experienced driver with all the defensive driving in the world can sometimes be very unlucky. Because the roads are not your grandfather's road, you dont drive ALONE, the roads are shared. And besides, why do you think it is called an Accident? please define Accident. Jamesc Hypersonic May 8, 2014 Share May 8, 2014 (edited) Teach me how to drive defensively when one incident, my car is stationery and the other incident people bang into my rear. What to do when one happened to be unlucky on a particular day? This should not be penalised by the insurer again! Gentle moderate braking giving time and space for the car behind to come to a stop without hitting your rear end. If stationery at lights then switch on rear lights, if parked on the side of the road then put on hazzard lights. Unless in all 3 cases your was parked in a car park, you were not inside and got hit by 3 different drunk drivers then yes there is not much you can do. If I got hit by 3 different drunk drivers then even that can do something about. Don't park so close to the pub. Jamesc Hypersonic May 8, 2014 Share May 8, 2014 After passing the test and driving for a few years all of us including me will be pick a lot of bad habits that we are not aware of. One of the best thing we can do that may even save our life one day is to go out with a driving instructor and let them give us tips on improving our driving techniques. They may even give us a few pointers on what we can improve on and what we should be looking out. This could be life saving tips. Especially people that keep getting hit in the rear a few times. For all you know, he really is sibeh suay? Maybe you are right. Maybe he is really unlucky. He put in his post how to drive defensively and I shared a few tips. If someone in their car gets hit 3 times in 2 years maybe it would be a good idea to go with a professional instructor and its just an hour. For all we know the instructor may say he is a perfect driver and there is nothing he can improve about his driving or maybe they could point out a few tips on improvement. If I got hit 3 times in 2 year I would go for it. It might just save a life, his or a family member or another road user. i really hope he goes for it but I really doubt it from the way he post. There again I hope he proves me wrong
