Talking about high speed trains, China apparently is the world's biggest manufacturer of such trains, in terms of quantities, and they have been linking their major cities with such trainlines, making travels between these cities seamless and efficient --- compared with domestic flights, such train rides do away with long waiting time at airports, the time wasted to get from / to city centres to airports etc etc. The extent the use of such high speed trains to replace flying has actually caused a noticeable drop in the sales of planes (BOEING and AIRBUS affected).

 

These two giant air planes makers are understandably worried now: what if, and it's likely to happen, when the use of such high speed trains made in China is spread to other countries in the world (due to convenience mentioned above), so much so that the traditional customers of these giants start buying MIC high speed trains instead of their planes?

China has already proven itself many years ago - The Great Wall of China.

 

With the aid of modern technology, this is nothing new.

 

Not scared that they build (since their economy is booming), scared is they are not building and hoarding wealth. At least, there will still be some bread crumbs for other countries to participate.

Did you watch this movie? Read Wiki and the storyline seems interesting, albeit like the Hunger Games.

Saw the movie. Interesting idea about post apocalypse world where the all human left were inside this ecologically balance, but socially imbalance train there is perpetually going around earth.

When China was weak, people see it no up.

When China starts to prosper, people starts to have fear.

This is common and understanable.

Like Singapore during its booming years, many new riches emerged just like China now albielt China one is a major one.

During this stage, there bound to be many negative traits of newly riches displaying locally and internationally.

China will one day (though many more years) reach the stage whereby its PRC passports are highly respected worldwide just like Singapore.

Yes this train much safer than plane, less check in time, reduce traffic jam, carry alot people and more environmental friendly than those planes.

 

However the downside is that it cost alot to build the tracks and trains as well as freeing the land. Moreover its not easy as its not like plane that when no passenger they just close the route and use the plane for other routes. HSR tracks already built and u cant change it. The money poured into and when no demand, they will incur even higher losses. They must put this into consideration and moreover they must make sure that they price the ticket cheaper than budget airline. Last but not least there will be allt of controversies as many people will lodge complaint due to noise pollution when train tracks close to their home.

 

Thats why SG-KL HSR will take forever to build hahahha

So far, their high speed trains are well used by the people who use them instead of planes. This is not the first time our shipping port may sweat about these kind of proposals.

 

I remember some time back, an article says Russia is exploring a new shipping route up north across the arctic oceans, bypassing Gulf/Cape Town, and Singapore etc.
