U got it at 103,888? I see some bros here who already got their car through non guaranteed bid at 103,888. Wonder how that's possible. My SE just said it won't happen and asked me to keep waiting. Already 3 bids gone.

Yes. Got it at $103888 non guarantee bidding. Given $44k open cat after one bidding without top up. 3 years warranty and 1k, 5k, 10k, 20k, 30k, 40k, 50k and 60k servicing

I guess is lucky. Cos I rejected my SE to top up at $1k and $500. Next day on 18 February told me no need to top up. All the best to rest waiting for coe. I think coe will drop again as a lot of vehicles scrapping or due thus year.

This is possible since Trans Eurokars (Mazda) already price at $103,888 with the possibilities that COE CAT B may go up, just a matter of how much.

Usually the consideration factors during their meeting who to offer Open CAT or which to clear first are:

1. Profit Margin % after minus off the freebies and overtrade

2. Existing worthy trade-in car

I do not think they just wanna take in orders without fulfilling hence they have 3 months (6 biddings) to clear it.

If ever your SE say such nonsense to you again, reply by saying "Why you guys even price at this $103,888 right at the start?".

I feel that you should stop contacting your SE just like me, bo chap attitude.

This type of SE ask them fly kite.

I'm also strategizing Plan B, meaning look out for what other cars available as the excitement is gone.

This is my 4th new car since Year 2004; and this is the first time I have to wait so long for a basic Japanese car, pretty disappointed with Mazda.

Yeah pretty disappointed with Mazda bidding. Stopped contacting SE already, like you said. Anyway when I signed vas, I got them to agree to issue open cat no matter what after 6 biddings without top up, so it's only a matter of time.

Hi,

Same with bro.. I feel u

I don't even contact my SE. My thinking, if I ask, SE might offer top-up. So I just go with the flow.

I'm willing to 'let it go' if worst case scenario.

So what's your Plan B? Any particular ride which comes close to M5 in mind? dun mind sharing :)?

I will most probably go for PI cars.

Toyota Wish, Nissan Serena or Toyota Voxy.

These 3 are in my shortlist.

$18800

Pretty decent OMV.

Toyota wish is a good car. I only change aircon compressor and cooling coil in the 10 years it served me. Bad point is no rear aircon which is quite stuffy if driving to Malaysia with 3rd row people. I trade in my old Toyota wish, I guess there is demand for this car if agent renew coe. And my car in very good condition.

Hi,

Surprised that a lot of bros here must wait for quite long for your new rides.. mine was quite fast, maybe due to different model ? I booked my CX5 on March 6th, got my COE 3 days later on March 9th at the 1st bid without any top up & collected my ride on March 23rd. And it's not that I paid a premium for it.. got a pretty good deal too.. about 7K off the listed price, extended 5 years warranty, free 1 year road tax & other standard freebies. All along got a very good experience with my SE.. Not sure what their strategy is in clearing backlog.. Hope you all get your rides soon !

Not surpirse that you get your ride fast as you have missed the boat of the lowest point ($122,888) with the freebies and 60K 3 years free servicing during CNY period; hence the wait for those of us who bought at the lowest price.

The price and date you paid for your CX5 has already rebound extra $7K, hence you are able to secure your ride and COE fast given that the 3 previous CAT B bidding are about $1K difference.

The profit margin for a CX5 is $8K more than a Mazda 5, hence more buffer to play for Trans Eurokars to easily secure a COE. :D

Cheers

yup i'm aware of that fact.. but I actually paid even less than the lowest point you mentioned above during Feb.. $120,888 (after factoring in $2k for trading in my scrapped 10 year old car).. contented with my $120.8k deal, given the fact that my COE is $47.6K, and not $38K  [laugh]

Nice...

Great deal for a March 2016 trade at this price.

Those who got the $38K COE are actually those January 2016 trades who paid for $50K COE pricing.
