I ever kenna a warning from SG Customs when crossing Woodlands CP without the spare tyre.  They said it is an offence that happened end-2007.  Not sure if SG officer playing with me. No other reason given. I was driving a corolla, spare tyres full sizes.

Now driving a Carens, but the spare tyres is not full sizes.  Not heavy at all.

Congrats bro, mine too Kia carren. Left two years. Waiting for my bid after top up. I am still considering whether to do ICE upon receiving my M5. U sure u wanna to open up your new car? I can share what is in my mind after my warranty is over.

Certain obvious things definitely will do. Sound proofing four doors. And I may customize a thick acrylic under my spare tires compartment. Spare tires stay at home. All my amps, capacitor banks, woofer speaker, circuit breaker and TV tuner will be mounted onto the acrylic. Likely install two central speakers at D-pillars. 3 ways speakers at A-pillars. Upgrade my car batt to higher ampere and a separate kill switch for all my sound systems. This is to isolate power consumption during my business trip.

Lastly and most importantly upgrading my HU. No offense, I actually not in favor pioneer. I m not selling but I been using Sony HU for best movie theater experience. Pioneer too many buttons liao and I prefer plain looking "box" panel cw sharp graphic. Not installing roof mount monitor and seat monitors. Less LEDs. Maybe LEDs below chairs and spare tires compartment when opening doors.

I started my ICE since my first car. Spent so much and they won't worth anything when u sell your car. It is additive, once u start, u eventually will keep on adding new gadgets. Maybe I will try to control my temptation till my warranty finishes.

Any folks wanna to know more I don't mind sharing. Ya.

Agreed with you.

For sound quality, Alpine produces the best and tuning with pink noise yield the best warmth music.

However Alpine HUs are pretty expensive, hence go for 2nd best all these while which is Pioneer.

Another long forgotten legend is Clarion D2 HU, the best bang for bucks HU back then. [thumbsup]

Eversince this model, Clarion has not produce any powerful HU.

Wow. I saw quite many M5 on the road. Apparently all equip with pioneer HU.  Is this Pioneer HU good? Or I have to ask my SE to upgrade? What model should I propose and hopefully it will not affect my steering wheel control button? Thankz

Of course there are alot of top model Pioneer and Alpine HU to choose from outside market ...u can refer marketplace here....

The good thing abt current installed pioneer HU on our Mazda 5 is that it is fully equip with bluetooth, steering wheel, GPS and so.

only thing missing is the TV control. but i do not need that now

....If u getting other new HU or 2nd second HU, u need to consider to buy all the accessories above and get them installed .....remember our Mazda also getting third party workshop to install ....they will charge accordingly ...

I actually go other route to update ICE like changing all ur speakers , install Amp / processor and sub, , as our Mazda 5 front speaker do not come with tweeter ,,,so the tweeter slot near ur side mirror is empty inside...

recently I also find there is a empty slot on the right side of our trunk which might able to fit in one subwoofer ....now exploring ...

Any bro here who have installed ICE kindly share ...poison us pls ....

This is because TE gives the Pioneer AVH-275BT as stock HU for M5. For me, I upgraded to AVH-X8750BT to ensure 100% compatibility with the steering wheel remote and GPS module.

For me I transferred my Alpine speakers (front component + rear coaxial) + Pioneer underseat sub-woofer + Alpine underseat 4ch amp set-up over from my previous Stream.

Wee, how much u paid for for 8750? How much U traded in for 275? Pity that exciting no tweeter. Need to save some money for HU + speaker.

Hi,

Just finish my 1st full tank (about 49L) clock 470km only. 60% expressway 40% road, istop turned-on less than 10 times, duration: 8-9days.

SE didn't give Blaupunkt (BP 2.0 FHD) instead received Philips (ADR600). Is it really better as SE says?

Lastly, will like to ask:

1) Can the front cam be linked/viewed by the roof-mount monitor?

2) What file type (video saved in USB) does Pioneer AVH-X2850BT read? My previous Pioneer AVH-P4250DVD reads Divx.

3) Can the USB (saved videos/photos) be viewed on the roof-monitor?

4) There's this App option on AVH-X2850BT but nothing happened when pressed. Can view YouTube for HP?

5) Any cheap & gd TV tuner to intro?

Thanks in advance.

Can't really recall how much I paid for my 8750 after trading in the 275 to my regular installer. Think it was something like $750.

By the way, 8850 has just launched. Maybe you can consider that.

Thanks wee, 750 meaning upgrade after trade in and workmanship for transferring your existing from old to new? Did your installer also installing the tweeter on your M5? Is it messy cabling works? Thanks again for sharing.

Price is for the HU alone. Tweeter is part of my existing Alpine component speakers and it is installed within the tweeter holder. Once you start upgrading ICE, it's confirmed going to be a messy job. But end of the day it doesn't matter if everything works well. My advice is not to stay around to watch, or else you'll feel heartache seeing them ripping your car apart.
