not just car or tyre

every time go shopping Cashier ask are you the member?

I reply NO , I witness the Customer infront of paid 5% less than me /or I paying 5% more tham him?

membershit tie you down restrict you when come to choice especially groceries need weekly replenish.

for car and servicing I only like to go my regular

Call / go / ask / why this / how much / time need / watch /

totally agree. and thanks to the screwed policy, i found myself a better deal elsewhere.. cant believe i actually stick with them for the few years paying for the rather expensive rotating rates!

Would like to share with fellow drivers about my horrible experience at this place.

1. If you plan to pay $55 for their annual membership, think again. Note that the membership is tagged to your car registration no., not you. Should you change your car and didn't retain the old car plate no., there goes your membership - you can throw the membership card out together with the rest of the trash. No point trying to talk sense into the counter staff, 'company policy' is all they'll say.

 

2. The 6 pcs of cash vouchers can only be redeemed with purchases above $50, take note that it's $50 to 1 voucher. If you plan to use the other vouchers for batt, wipers, etc, you will notice that everything in there is priced well above the voucher value. Meaning, value for money will not be what you the member will be receiving, cos honestly there are plenty of other places out there where car owners can get much better value for their money.

 

3. On the other hand, the workshop guys are fast and efficient, they know what they are doing and are very polite. This is the only saving grace.

 

I feel that I've been conned with regards to joining the A1 Tyre membership, it is actually my old car who is the member that's valid till 21 June 2015, but hey I paid for it and paid the price for not retaining the car plate number. Never again A1 Tyre membership, never again A1 Tyre.

The overall experience is that of a carrot/radish - got chopped, but still many thanks to the friendly and fast workshop staff at the woodlands industrial park outlet.

For me, at the end of the day what matters is whether paying for membership will give you saving compare to without if you really think this tyre is worth to get at the price-point. If yes, then just go ahead to get it and not get too emo about all the membership thingy and marked-up tie-in merchandises. I have done it twice in the last 5years and discarded all the vouchers and just enjoyed the deal as it is. No regrets on the V12 and S1 EVO tyres. I never even used their free tyre repair service as not so near.

 

Cool down and not let those gimmicks affect your day. Cheers.

Try to look at the picture in correct perspective, not that we must milk max advantage from every deal we get. Anyway you should have been clear about this when you got it with your previous car definitely not force to buy right, so just live and let live lah. Not easy to run a business nowadays.

was offer a membership at Courts furniture few years back and do patronize may once every 3 months shop shop only and always ended up buy something and last 3 years NO chance to enjoy the benefit ,because cashier always said this items no entitle.

so I ask which are the items got member discount? she said all offer items excluded and the rest most of items also no count please ask staff check if you want the member discount before your decision

let me use supermart as examples we have NTUC / Giant / Shen siong ?

each every store got their membership card benefit ?

you choose which h store to buy your groceries ?

I always go NTUC (no doubt I don't quite like to support GLC)

but me because of Location 5 mins walk

I do go 7-11 , cheers ,any provision store ,mama store buy some urgent stuffs , I hate to be tight down by this membership benefit because basically the items is all the same to me (my personal POV)

unlike for car service provider(not just tyre matter) we need their expertise to recommend you something at the time you need.

and they have seen the products used by others and know .

But again they need to run business so Money (profit) is they concerned too

Fat hopes to make myself a carrot head again. Jeez man, u talking like u working for A1 tyre leh...not get 'max advantage fm every deal'... ... means we should pay n let out ourselves get taken advantage of huh...

 

Note: you are wrong, the membership WAS valid for 2 yrs, when I renewed it on 22 Jun 14 the new membership is only valid for a 1yr period till 21 Jun 15, yep sure am lucky, very lucky. The negative T&Cs of membership was left out and there was no brochure nor was there a verbal explaination, finding out in such a manner is indeen unpleasant, even for the likes of u.

 

Looking on the bright side, it's a small price to pay to uncover such unreasonable practices by a 'recommend vendor' in sgcarmart's marketplace.

Indeed it's not easy to run a business, as I too run a business, but it's not an excuse to have crap practices such as this.

This being a renewal, the shop would assume that you are familiar with the t&c thus not providing much details. By the way the tieing of deal to license plate has been there for > 5 years, not sure how you could miss it all the while. And of course not all vouchers bundled with the deal will be useful to every consumer or worth to redeem. The shop is not running a charity for sure.

 

Next time do spend more time to do abit of research before buying to avoid this kind of situation. Money not easy to earn these days. Have a good weekend.

Yep I drove down to the shop to renew membership on 22 May 14 and left, found out it's no longer valid on 18 Jul 14, it's a great membership policy u guys got there, do keep it up, more good years ya.

Yep I missed the small print on ur membership policies cos none was presented nor explained, my bad my bad. But now it's all in the garbage bin of the woodlands shop, vouchers n card n all.

Oh thanks for ur kind advise, there won't be a next time for A1 Tyre PL, charity or not.

Frankly, this is called - self pawned!

 

You buy things without checking, then go complain thereafter. Think I am going to offend more people, but I can see there are others here with same problem.

 

It is not that the shop cheat you of hard-earn money, but you really did save some with the package compare to without when you get the tyres the first time. And you must have like them enough to renew the membership. The shop has to draw a line somewhere as it has to decide where is its bottom-line.

 

This scrutiny part applies to everything in life. Please do not complain this to your boss, else your future prospect in the company would have become dimmer by abit, or to your friends/relatives as they might not share your grievances but laugh at you behind your back. I share save some breath as from your response, you definitely still feel you have done no or little wrong in this episode. Cheers.
