  2. Dear All, I'm intending to giveaway my current set of hankooks 205/45/17 to anyone who needs it as the tyre shops doesn't do trade ins and the set of tyres are still relatively new and threads still have a long way to go. Some conditions I can think of: 1. I will need your worn out tyres so I can drive to my designated location to change my tyres. 2. Cost of exchanging tyres at workshop to be borne by interested party. Reason why I'm changing out my current set of tyres is because I cannot bear the noise and the wet grip of this tyres doesn't fit my style of driving. Below are several photos taken today for your reference and information. Can always meet up to view the actual condition of the tyres before you decide to take up or not. Please don't flame me by saying the tyres sure got problem that's why I giving it away. I don't have this intention and the interested party can always verify before changing out. By the way, I'm staying in north-east in case you wanna know.
  3. Hi all, do anyone encounter such chipping from your tyres before? Hankook kinergy DOM (5214) Detected the chipping more than half a year ago. All chipping only on the outer side of tyre. https://ibb.co/m6wvHQ https://ibb.co/bRSPBk https://ibb.co/huc2xQ https://ibb.co/nvKPcQ https://ibb.co/gZL845 https://ibb.co/iKM4cQ https://ibb.co/gAVaj5 https://ibb.co/mJRRrk
  4. Hi guys Tires reaching 3 years old and I'm looking for something at least on the same level of the F1D5, or a good upgrade to it. My tire size is 195/50/15, and I'm looking for good cornering and grip. Comfort and sound levels don't matter to me. I was looking at Michelin PS3, PS4, and the ContinentalSportContact 5. Is the PSS too out of my league? Also, I've wanted to try Hankook RS2, but apparently its already EOL, and the RS3 does not have my size. Seeking the help and advice of tire gurus here for which is the best upgrade to my F1D5. Thanks!
  5. guys ..apologize if this has been discussed before please comment on the korean tyres ..am looking at specs 235/45/18 , 240/45/18 and which one is better ..thanks
  6. Furious at the customer service. Simply doing the tai chi style instead of offering solutions. Problem is with the so call membership that they claim to follow car plate. So you are not allow to change car or a new plate for the 2 years worth of member services? ! This is darn craps when they have a members portal where you can update your details. .. utterly disappointed with this service provider! !! Not to say I have been with them for the 3 sets of tires
  7. I just changed to a set of Hankook Ventus V12 today at the Toh Guan branch. Got a pretty good deal for the 235/45 R17 size as they were a slightly older DOM batch which they were clearing stock. Chin, the supervisor there was not pushy and was honest in his assessment of older tyres describing their downsides. However, they did not have the S1 or RS2 with the size I wanted so decided to give it a go given the price offered. Besides that, I was very impressed by the professionalism of the staff at that branch. They took great care in installing my new rims which I brought along ensuring they weren't scratched in the process. Utilising the $55 discount to change my 2.5 yr old battery, they did it the old school way with the engine on to ensure that the radio settings are retained and the ECU wasn't reset. The same can't be said for some other tyre shops out there. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and kudos to the team there. I would definitely go back for a tyre change when the current set wears out. As a side note, my initial impression of the V12 do seem pretty grippy in wet weather in comparison to the RE001 which I was on previously. But I guess the tyres have not been fully scrubbed in yet so it would not be fair to draw any conclusions this early.
  8. I'm currently on bf goodrich g sport, and as it's already balding, I'm considering the Hankook v12 as my replacement as recommended by Frankie from Soh Tyres. I've read the reviews here that the sidewall is quite soft for v12, and as I'm a person who likes to take corners at "higher than normal" speeds, I would like to find out if anyone knows if the sidewall for the v12 is already harder than the bf goodrich. Was considering the RS2 but I think it's already out of production. I'm currently running on 195/50/15, which is why the RS3 is out of the question due to 17 inch not being available. If there are any other recommendations similar to the performance of the v12 I'm all ears as well! Thanks.
  9. May I know the locations whereby I will be able to purchase the hankook rs3 tyre at the above size? Thanks in advance.
  10. Hi all just change my tyres to Hankook Kinergy Eco. 195/65 R15. Bought at $300 include installation. Any comments on this? I'm driving a Nissan Latio Sedan. Thanks.
  11. Hi guys, can help give inputs on these 3 tyres? I am looking to change my tyres next week. 205 55 16.
  12. Bros, i just changed my Toyo T1Rs for Hankook ME01 last week. i am running on 205 55 16" the grip on wet is good but not as grippy as T1R but i must say really close esp braking on wet. but the ME01 are really really quiet tyres. i was cruising on PIE and unwittingly hit almost 120kmh coz the tyres were so quiet that i did not take note of the speed... I must say the ME01 lookd promising, one thing to be verified is the treadwear of 300. the thread looks kinda shallow as compared to my previous T1R that were really really deep grooves. any bros also on ME01 to shre their experiences?/
  13. I am happy to have met Ah Siong formerly from Hankook again. Got a good price for my Varta Battery and he corrected the battery installation which was screwed up by previous installer. It could have short circuited or started a fire as I was told. He is now with ACE Battery & Tyre Pte Ltd Blk 28 MidView City #01-141. Tel: 6659 2289 Thumbs up for good service and price!
  14. Narrowed down to this 2 tyres. Price wise about the same. Can any bros advise??? Heard that there are 2 sources for KU31, Viet and Korea. If I got from a dealer listed from Binter, does it mean that it will be from Korea?
  15. Almost new tyres V12 205/50/17 less than 2 weeks old, less than 500km done on them. Interested parties pls pm me, thanks.
  16. comparing the 2 above...which one will you go for?
  17. Some months back I bought four V12 tires from Hankook's Kaki Bukit outlet. Today I went back there for tyre rotation. For straight forward front to back/back to front rotation, they charge $15. However as my tires wear on the inner edge (especially the front), I requested that the front tires be swop to the opposite side and place at the rear, and the back tires moved to the front (no swop). This is to even out the wear so that the tires last. Obviously I am aware that two of my tires need to be removed from and remounted on the wheels and that involves extra work and cost. The staff at Kaki Bukit tried to discourage me giving reasons that the side wall is susceptible to damage if removed from the wheel. I do not accept the reason and insist on my way. Now they quoted me an extra $40 to do that on top of the $15 originally chargeable. As I felt that this is is way too expensive (I have done rotation in this manner before at a much cheaper rate elsewhere) but because since the tires were bought from them and I am already there, I tired negotiating for a lower charge. They insisted that that is their rate and will not barge. I suggested that they speak with their boss but only to get the reply that Robert is traveling. Since they refuse to pick up the phone to call their head office, I decided to call their Hotline instead. The hotline leads to the main outlet at Woodlands. At the other end of the line, is the sound of a Malay man who spoke english. I describe to him my issue and ask for a cheaper rate but he insisted on his rate and instead told me to go elsewhere. I was mad hearing that and ask for his name because I find that is very rude to come from a customer service hotline. He ignored me and hung up on me. On hearing my conversation, the Kaki Bukit staff (a PRC girl) agreed that her colleague's attitude was poor but stop short of an apology. I left the shop fuming, not because they refuse to give me a cheaper rate but because of the extremely bad service attitude from the hotline. Robert, if you are reading this post, I want to say I am utterly disappointed with Hankook's poor service attitude. You can insist on your charges but it is also a customer's right to bargain. If no agreement, at most I walk out. But to have your customer service staff telling me to take the business elsewhere when I have brought the business to you, is downright rude and unacceptable. Not forgetting that he refuse to divulge his name when I ask for it and he hung up the phone on me. Hankook has a good product but with such service attitude, I won't buy Hankook again.
  18. Hi bro, I am sorting between these two tire for my Civic. I like to toss my ride during leisure drive. Also, I like to test the traction for corners instead braking. For NSHW, I always push my ride to redline. From magz, Evo S1 score high compare to bridgestone S001. Tks you for advance inputs
  19. I installed a set of Hankook tyres, RA08 for my company's Mercedes bus, MB140D and am quite happy with the feel. Cost wise, its rather cheap, at SGD125 each for 195/75/R16. The steering feels lighter now (maybe the old stock tyres were .....old??) and well bus does not feel that "bumpy" now. I have always kept the bus in tip top condition, including pumping the correct air pressure for the tyres, etc, and the old tyres still feels sluggish. Will post more once this set reaches 1000km. If more pple interested, will keep posting at 5000km, 10000km. As of today, it has done slightly above 200km. Cheers....
  20. Hi, anyone of u using this tyre? I used them for abt 23k km now.. just wanna share my thoughts. If u drive aggressively during dry and wet weather, u may wanna give it a miss. Comfort and noise is pretty good. dry grip is ok as well. Wet grip i'm not so confident with it as during heavy downpour i drive 70km/hr on straight expressway, go through water puddle and there lots of resistance, seems like the tyres really can't cut through the water well, but i have to qualify by saying i have not skidded on this tyre during wet weather as i did not drive 100+km and cut corner at 80-90km/hr in wet weather If u drive slowly, this tyre is recommended for its low noise n comfort. Wanna have better confidence in wet weather, this ME01 not a good choice. Price wise its cheap at less than $130 for 205/50r16
  21. guys..currently am using federal Evo tyres for ard 40k le...so perhaps planning to change...cause Evo tyres are quite noisy le....so am not sure...which 1...i know toyo T1R is better than Hankook v12 and kumho ku31....but wad advice do ur have??
  22. I am looking to change tyres soon and I am currently using Falken ZIEX 912 tyres. find these a little noisy. Can someone reccomend another brand of tyres? My requirements are quiet and comfort. Budget is $120 per piece for 195/55/15.
  23. I'm currently on S1 Evo which has travelled 45,000km with the thread depth down to the last 2mm. It's been a decent set of tyres, serving me well in the dry as well as on the wet. Other than ME01 (comfort) and RS3 (hardcore tracking), I don't believe there are other offerings from Hankook, particularly S1 Evo replacement. I'm inclined to purchase another set of S1 Evo, but I'm feeling bored staying with the same tyre for another 45,000km, so another part of me is keen to try other UHPs from Goodyear or Bridgestone. Are there petrolheads who stick to S1 Evo for all their replacements? or most who have tried S1 Evo proceeded to other brand of tyres?
