  1. Hi guys... i'm considering between the Kumho KU31 and v12. both reviews looks great (with v12 topping and kumho still within top ranks) but the kumho is really cheap... for 195/55/15 kumho ranges between 80-90 bucks and v12 is about $104... any advice which i should go for? thks
  2. Is the above tyre good? Any user? Price for 225/40R18? Tks. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...=Ecsta+LE+Sport
  3. Based on my other thread which asked for comments on Kumho KU31 and KU15. And also to benefit those who are contemplating this model for next change. I have finally scrubbed the rubbers enough. And would like to review this tyre against what I was using previously, Goodyear Eagle F1(Thai). Overview: Tyre aspect ratio: 205/45R16 Speed Rating: Y Traction: AA Temperature: A Treadwear: 220 Pros: Sidewall is stiffer Sharper steering response(Due to the straight rib in the middle) Good lateral and linear grip once warmed up Commendable in the wet Cons: No rim protector Ride is a little harsh(Maybe because of the side profile) Compound is a little unsuitable on rough roads, potholes From here, I can conclude that this tyre is a good run for its value. It does its job without much squealing and without much hesitation under spirited driving. Downside is that the treadwear is quite high but that is what I expected from an Ultra High Performance Tyre(Or Extreme Summer, claims Kumho USA). For those who demand comfort, this is not the tyre to ponder for your next tyre change. Will update again the milespan reaches 10k. Tread:
  4. Hi all, 1. Anyone have experience using with this tyre? Seems to a budget tyres with high performance and quite highly regarded in some tyre review websites. 2. Any idea of an indicative pricing of 225/45R17? Thank you very much. Regards,
  5. Went to ricardo recently to get my rotors fixed. At the same time, the mechanic in charge (can't remember name, some old chap wearing glasses with very short hair and quite tanned) recommended that I change my existing Bridgestone Er30 to new tyres. In a while, this guy Albert in charge of tyres came out. He suggested Kumho Ecsta. I was.... quite skeptical at first. Odd name, which I only seen recently on some American websites.... Many of the forumers gave Ecsta a thumb up for excellent grip. So, I agreed to the deal. Changed to 16" ecsta at 120 bucks a piece (sounded reasonable to me). After running in, can really feel the tyre grip. Tried to launch the vehicle from standstill (only up to 70km/h). Drag gear 1 to 50 km/h. No skidding. Gear up to 2, car quite steady on the road. During rainy weather, grip is decent, unlike the Yoko DBs (which I used before sometime back) and way better than most tyres I used before. Have yet to bring the car to the track, but I guess for everyday driving the Ecsta does a pretty good job. Ricardo service is top notch. Even the big boss was on the ground walking here and there. He even brought out some drinks. While waiting for my car to be done up, they provided free ferry to Ikea at Alexandra. At least, Ikea got more stuff to see. Albert (the tyre guy) was very professional too. After I paid for their services, he still took the trouble to explain how the car jack works (... erm... didn't know how to change tyre before then. ). The mechanic who did my car (can't remember name) is not bad too and managed to diagnose my car problem quite quickly. He also took the trouble to update me on the vehicle status, while I was at Ikea. If want to change Kumho tyres, can try out Ricardo. Tyre replacement cost about 500 odd inclusive of labour. Took a picture of the Kumho tyres. Will try to upload later.
  6. Hi Sis and Bro's I am looking for this tire. Where is the cheapest place to get and roughly how much? Thanks
  7. Kumho ECSTA KU31 vs Falken FK452 vs Bridgestone RE001 Which one cheapest and which one best in overall performance?
  8. Any unbiased reviews on this tyre? Did a search already, however, most threads turn into Hankook, eagle f1, toyo comparison. Comments from current users on above tyres will be appreciated. Anyone running on this tyre, say comparing between this n AD07. Looking at enormous grip in the dry. Wet - decent grip. Not looking at: Ventus RS2 - no size available for me, no choice Eagle F1 - So-so dry grip TOYO R1R - no size *many other brands do not have below stated sizes, which limit my choices. * not looking at general road use tyre; ultra high performance only. Size wanted: Front: 235/40/18 Rear: 265/35/18 Currently on: Neova AD07 All comments welcomed, but pls take the sizes into factor as not many brands offering the required size.
  9. Currently running on 195/55 R15 Bridgestone Potenza G3. But tyres getting old... Unlike cars, i can't exactly test drive tyres and there's so much choices out there...so i'm limiting myself to these 3 choices.. Will appreciate any opinions on my 3 choices and which would you choose if you were me. 1) Stick with the G3 cause well it's good but noisy 2) Hankook V8 RS 3) Kumho ECSTA SPT XPT - does this come in 15"? 4) Other choice? For me, i want a tyre that will last at least 1.5yrs, good dry grip and good wet grip, esp wet cause i'm very scared in wet...already skid on the G3 before in wet and that's supposed ot be a good wet tyre...or maybe it was just be cornering too fast in the rain hehe.

  11. Have read so much on the following tyres: 1. KUMHO 712 2. BFG GFS 3. Yoko ES100 4. Pirelli Dragon 5. Bridgestone GR80 Just wanted to do a mini survey based on brothers experience here. In terms of dry grip, wet grip, cornering response/comfort, handling, which one wins in each category? Of course, price plays a part too :) Comments?
