Hi, just wanted to say thank you to the bros on mcf. I wun touch on the actual issue, but I just wanted to express my gratitude towards all of u. Your words your actions b it positive or negative, it let me realize that I m not alone( negativeness let me reflect on myself, positiveness give me the courage to move on)

I was really feeling down few days ago, but now I m much better, just bc of the fellow mcfers care & concern. I just want to let all of u know, u guys r really awesome!

Really really glad getting to know u guys, I may not have contributed much to the forum previously, but if at any point of time volunteers r needed, let me know, I will like to pass on the spirit of helping, the spirit of mcfers!!!

Wishing you 东山再起 and all the best of luck.

Darren, can u share with us what u freelance in and location of ur flat? There's a bro who offered help to leased out ur room. securing a constant stream of income is vital in debt restructuring. I m sure someone here can help in that aspect once we know what skill and qualification u have. The banks are pressing hard as u do not have a job and they cannot identify source of repayment for their debt. Once u prove to them u can repay with a permanent income source, they are always willing to negotiate.

...

After i cleared my debts, i tot i am free and i went ahead to buy house with my wife. All my loan application with my wife was rejected due to the default. I sent the banks proof of my settlement with the banks but they refuse to grant me loan as they said thay the bank who grant me neg settlement stated this in my credit bureau report. Moreover, there is defailt record. Luckily, there is this bank who is willing to grant me loan after talking to them for quite sometime.

Fast forward to last year, my default in my credit bureau is cleared after 3 years of settlement. I tried to apply loan for a car for an amt that is lesser tjan the parf value, just to try my ability to loan. All banks rejected me although my last 3 years income are more than 100k and the loan required is less than 20k where the paper value of the car is 50k. One of the bank officer told me that even though my credit bureau is cleared, the banks still have a record of my history and this is shared with all banks!!

This year early, finally i managed to get loan for my wife car. They loan me an amt less than the parf value of the car.

I realised that we are in a country with no mercy, unlike the US. Once we have a black mark, it will take years to clear, not to mention bankruptcy.

...

Banks here are always like that - they only want to lend money to people who DON'T need loans! [speechless]

How many of us get bothered by telemarketers calling us these days offering cash loan etc. and all these are unsolicited and not needed? ... Next time, I'll re-direct their calls to those that really need a helping hand and cash loan to tide them over.

another way to help is to organize a donation drive. MCF how many members? each one can contribute about $2 to $10...or more...? if can get 5k members to come out with $10 each, then TS debt can be solved....

frankly i dont see the point in giving him the fish. Its better if he fish himself that would make him stronger than before.

Exactly bro. If the fish is given, u can expect to see more similar requests coming in... Instead of monetary assistance, the offer of permanent jobs and advises will be helpful towards a permanent solution.. I never believe in lending money to anyone unless i am willing to write it off but will be happy to provide basic food necessities if required.

have you tried negotiating with the bank reps to see if there is a way to workout a more managable repayment period?

or a second mortage on your home to work out a lower interest repayment plan?

Bro... i may not be the best person to advise you. but to post such a post is really a desperate call for help.

3 toddlers. wow... what kinda freelance are you into? mabbe i can intro your services to my friends to help you generate more income?

From TS posts, can see that he is truly looking at ways to solve his problem. If everyone contributes and donates, it will be detrimental to his effort.

Best for him to solve it himself. He will become a stronger man.

Bro, he has requested for funds and provided his account number to those who are willing to lend him the money... It's an open mobilisation...

Yes, but I think with his income, he is capable of seeing it through. The problem he has now is the loan. I taught him a way. Hopefully it will help him through.
