I believe this is one ulgy business practice we encounter once in a while. Giants use to have such practice occassionally. The displayed prices of the goods and the casher's prices are different.

 

But i thought under normal circumstances, the supermarket is suppose to honour the price tag that is displayed?

 

I kena before at NTUC and they say its their mistake for reflecting the wrong price and honour the lower price even though the offer is over.

nope. Displayed price is for info purpose and they need not honour it. They can chose not to sell at that price and buyer can also choose not to buy at a higher price.

 

it is through good will that ntuc chose to sell it.

no link but its in my uni law notes, sorry too lazy to go dig it out.

 

say in a scenario, a brand new car is listed as 20k instead of 200k as a result of typo, can we insist that the car dealer honour its advertised price? No, of course,
