Hi I have a white Honda Jazz 1.4 might want to let go:

Original Registration Date: 27 Apr 2011 so still left 1 year 2 months plus

ARF Paid was $19,220.00 so if deregister today would be $10,571.00 and COE rebate would be $5,209.00 (COE paid was $43,212.00). If Deregister end of life is $9610

Wondering what price it could fetch now?

I probably would do that...just curious what kind of price people would pay for such a car.

And guess what, I have receive messages from people offering ridiculous prices. 13K. I scrap + coe rebate now is more than 15K, why would I sell at 13K seriously...... Is this the new Carousell? haha!

i think 16 to 17k sound reasonable.

probably dealers thinking we are idiots.

there was one dealer who quoted me just $300 above min PARF with a car left 5mths to go in end 2014. told him i rather let the car sit. he said he would give me cash. DUH! i get the same cash too when i scrap at the LTA scrap yard, who would also pay me $100 at the very least for the body. thus no brainer to let it sit for less than $50 a month. Parking for me is at the roadside and thus free.

Don;t think so. Same car with the similar registration and ARF paid are going for 22K+ now. And a simple calculation will tell you this is lowballing honestly. If scrap value at end of life is $9610, and if you only want to pay 16K meaning you are actually only paying $6400 for driving a car for 14 months, meaning one month only $457. Seriously? Where to buy a Honda Jazz at this price per month? I would be interested too.

Precisely, I am not expert, but simple calculations I still can do.

Those are dealer list price, before many rounds of  test drive and negotiation, and at times it takes months to sell a car. what he suggested 16k to17k is a price that you could probably sell to a direct buyer ,otherwise, any dealer comes along will quote you paper value.

To be fair dealer is out to make money.. they in a risky business.. looking at current situation many will go burst..

They buy in stock and hold inventory.. there's overhead..

If so easy to sell privately WHY i only see about 1% Direct Owner sales in SGcarmart?

So far if i not wrong they don receive any govt relieve or grant.. unlike say taxi company or PHV?

Good time Good price owner sell own self.. bad time lousy price owner "upgrade" and dump car to them.. and still expect good price?

Some individuals just take the dealer list price and hope to sell it with the same price here.

i use to pay 8k+/yr depn for much better car from here during high COE time, for your case if based on 17k, it will be 6334/yr (5477/yr if based on 16k), based on sgcarmart New Honda Jazz lowest spec depn about 6600/yr as at now, may be lower with some nego?  it can't be real lowballing la, if u can get better price from dealer, just sell to them, for me, i will just make few hundred or even same price to help ppl looking for short term ride.

talking about calculation, just let you know your paper value will be depreciate at higher rate this 2 months, as you will lost another 5% on ARF, 19220 -5% = 961, and 360/mth on COE, your paper value will depn at 840/mth this 2 months, by that time the dealer price or scrap value will be even lower, so better sell quick to dealer now, seriously i doubt they will pay good price during this time, drive till the end is the best, scrap now is good option due to high paper value.
