Anybody driving a E220D? Wanted to know how is the feedback as it is about $20K to $30K cheaper than petrol E200. Thinking of getting one from PI. Any reliable PI? Servicing wise, any recommendation as we can't go back to CNC without adoption fee.

My friend bought the E220d from TTS Eurocars.

TTS is the ex Fiat AD turned PI now.

Seize the 20k rebate while it is still available. Come next year, it will be a surcharge. IMO, 20k is a very good discount over the e220d, i will definitely go for the e220d and save 20k, assuming there is no trade off in specification.

You calculate based on annual depreciation

Get Exact remaining years of car (e.g 7 years left),

the X amount minus the PARF value (e.g 26k) and divide by 7 years

The annual depreciation should be at least 17k

So based on these, it should be at least 145K, or 145k plus if you have low mileage etc

My Mercedes E250, Elegance is 3 years old at 35,000 miles

1 owner , accident free

With such condition and today's market, how much can I ask for if I sell ?

Any advice ? OR

Anyone has any sites to recommend that I can input info and get an estimate quote ?

Thats market price

Dealer take in 130k

How's the noise for the 220d? Inside and outside...

E220d very good when i start the engine, very refined too bad no test drive

Very quiet, sit inside cant hear. Even at outside like bo diesel clatter

I worry resale value, popularity and constant change of diesel law in sg. If in europe sure buy diesel better

I dunno about TTS workshop capability but i feel safer if the dealer buy warranty package from other reputable workshop.

Overtrade and trade in price is a farce! Just up the list selling price and I also can give a higher overtrade and trade in price. Ultimately it's the final price you pay. I was offered approx 121k for a A200 during one of their promo periods. This is the price I had to come out in "cash". The supposed lower prices is always after the deduction of service credits and grooming and whatever.

Overtrade is like dealer give u more cash from sale of ur existing car but they mark up the price. So u will be able to take up more loan and fork out less downpayment.

This is better than discount to some ppl, cos discount from selling price mean ppl take up less loan.

So if u r paying full cash, overtrade is a rubbish scheme

This overtrade will only add more to ur annual dep

And in future u sell ur new car, dealer will only look at paper value, so more likely if u sell first few years, dep will be super high

How to get $17 ??

I bought $260k  Parf at $26 remaining 7 years

If I use your formula : $260,000 - $26k / 7 years = $33,428.

How you get $17k per year

Please enlighten me

17k is the estimated depreciation per year that a new buyer is willing to pay for a 3 years old car.

So scrap value at 26k for your car plus 17k per year x 7 years is the estimated value for your car.

The sum still dont add up

It is either :

1. I am so dumb I dont get it , my GMAT score is 600

2. Something about the formula is not right

3. You missed out something in your explanation

In either case , is ok .  I will ask the SE at C&C

Your SE will tell you it is worth $130k....  hahahaha....

He is right, dealer quoting $17k per year depreciation. You can check SG CarMart, around $140k for a 2014 E250.  The math is relatively simple.  If you sell at $140k, that means your depreciation is $40k per year, it is crazy unless you have money to burn.

Thanks,

My bro just enlighten me.  It is about how I understand his English.

It should be $17k x 7 years then u add $26k .  That, I will derived at $145k

Also you were right.  I was there 2 days ago to look at GLC 250 .

C&C wanted my car at 130k ++

Now who says Merc have good resale? ð

If u buy new sure jialat. The price is inflated with overtrade, service credit, and other packages such as grooming pick up etc, then when u sell, ppl who buy nvr factor in those into the price.

All i can say new merc pricing damn ex. Maybe glc is priced reasonable. But for e class definitely not

The 70k COE in 2014 accounts for 20-30k of the loss. Plus CnC margin of 50k. Lol

The more luxury the model, the higher the margins. Pml knife even sharper for the new 5 series. And check out the margins for the 730...
