The deal is , u buy E class, they give u S Class :P)~~~~~

Good one! Haha. Did you bite?

Actually I think the promo offered is not too bad. I calculated the net discount is probably around $35-40k? So the net price of an E200 is around $220k (using an E200 Avg as example).

Compared to initial launch last year , it’s probably an additional $20k discount.

For those looking to get an E200k, this is not a bad time to consider. But if can wait, I think AD still have additional $5-10k margin to play with for times when they need to push for sales.

This private sale is probably to counter the launch of G30 520i

Wha so good? Looks like my friend got shortchanged then cos he only got $20k OT last evening for his Benz e200 almost 8yr old car. The SE was the SE who sold him his Benz previously.[/quote

Think the OT depends on the Mercs model.. my Frd's car coming 10yrs old S class model..

I first checked sgcarmart to determine how much used car dealers are selling my car for. I then deduct $15k from it to estimate how much they would offer my used car.

After which, i compared it with what C&C offered and it’s around $35k higher. Then if you want, can also add in the $5k service credits, Insurance rebates $1.2k. For reference, I’m driving an Edition E E200. Somebody is selling 1 for 188,888k in Sgcarmart.

for me .. only 3 simple rules .. 1. their profit should not be more than 60k for E level . Lexus should be around 40k. 2. trade in car value should be like what u mentioned market price less 15k. 3. 3yrs warranty and service free, can be in form of service credit. if can push further will be 4. incar camera, solar film and GPS

i will be happy with above. to me overtrade is just discount for the new car as they mark up too high.

Interesting analysis. It was my gut feel that it’s a decent deal. And so I went to check what’s the cost:-

https://www.onemotoring.com.sg/content/onemotoring/en/lta_information_guidelines/buy_a_new_vehicle/car_cost/_jcr_content/main_par/download/file.res/Car_Cost_Update.pdf

From the above, the E250 AVG total costs comes up to around $205k incl COE at $53k. If I consider the overtrade of $35k, the profit is probably around $40k.

On the other hand, the OMV is roughly the actual ‘cost of goods’ for C&C. Maybe you can add a few thousands of local costs eg,

1) Service Credit $5k

2) Warranty $2k ( factory covers 2 yrs)

3) In-Car camera, solar film $1k

4) Some car grooming stuff $2k

Total Costs is around $67k (omv $57k). Actually if I consider item 1 to 4 which I did not need to even nego, the profit is around $30k.

Thus the gross profit margin is approx 38% before fix overheads. IMO, it is a very decent business model. Tell me how many brick and mortar business can generate such gp margin year after year? Maybe property firms but their risk is quite high.
