Which Compact MPV is better?

Me too for the Mazda 5! I think it handles better than Toyota & boot space is really non existent with 3rd row up. Power is not too bad for a 2.0 (like their tag line says, "Zoom Zoom"). But that being said, I'm not sure if TS Uncle considers this as a "Compact" MPV. To me, compact is like the Honda Freed / Edix.

That being said since it's TS Uncle - With so many suggestions ranging from another Stream to Wish to Orlando - no one mentioned the trustworthy Picnic? Yes it may be 2.0 but I think it's definitely value for $ & it's functionality was way ahead of it's time imo.

Count me in! Love the Grand Carnival & the on road presence. Plus it's a great car to drive - very functional & versatile with a huge boot even with the 3rd row up.

I did mention Picnic, but it's perhaps somewhat bordering on 'slightly larger than compact'. [cool]

But for a MPV this size, should have sliding door lor...

Great, am surprised that C&C decided not to bring in the Sedona/Carnival. Maybe they were frightened by the previous model, which is not common so i think did not sell well.

Now looks like got more people with bigger family and kids growing up, or staying with parents (like me), so might need bigger MPVs. And given the other full-sized MPVs are either very expensive, or lacking some features (split 3rd row, can fold flat, etc.), or just plain dated, the new Sedona/Carnival should find a good market for an affordable full-sized MPV. This is esp sure since Trajet got no replacement model.

Hope more people can ask C&C about this, and hopefully influence them to reconsider. online inquiry page is

Mazda5's 2nd row seats have many tricks in terms of configurations!! Can even fold until a sizeable tray / soft bag appear from under one of the cushion!! iirc [thumbsup]

I think Kia has not been selling well in general since the COE hikes to begin with ? Just going by the published sales numbers.

That's prob true. All the cheaper cars/brands are affected when COE soared. Hyundai used to have Getz as small car, but since a couple years ago only started with min 1.6l cars...

For Kia, the only common models over the years were picanto and more recently forte. The other models can't compete with the many competitors.

But for full-sized MPV market, there are so few options, so I feel it might be worth its while to have one that offers something that has few/no rivals, and better still, at a significantly lower price.

The only full-sized MPV that isn't really expensive and has got

- sliding doors

- split seats (not bench) for 3rd row

- 3rd row can fold flat

- decent boot space

now is Estima, which is quite old/dated.

If got new rival that is newer in term of technology/features/gadgets and is cheaper, then I quite think many will consider this.

And for C&C/Kia, they don't have to develop another model since there's one new one. Why not just bring it in???

MCFers ... as some of you may have already gathered that I am in the market for a 7 seater. The current ones in the market are so so. I will love to know if there is any knowledge of new 7 seaters coming up in the market over the next 12 months e.g. XC90.

My dream will be to get the new XC90 but I suspect it will not come anything less than $300K ... please correct me if I am wrong!

Any other models coming out or due for change? Mazda 5/8 or Wish or ...?

Looking at the preliminary pricing in European countries, I think the new XC90 will be priced upwards of S$370,000.
