brightness of dashboard can be adjusted by turning on headlights first, then press the right hand side button on steering wheel until you see the bars displayed.

press and hold until desired lighting is achieved.

I thought this car using the old-school dial somewhere near/under steering column for the brightness... haha. [sweatdrop]

anyone know whats the exact model of HU the altis is using? And if i were to swap it to another HU like Pioneer AVH-8650BT, will my controls at the steering wheel still work?

Recent altis classic uses the Alpine HU, similar to that for camry.

How do you know that the HU is Alpine.

up to now I'd been under the impression that Toyota has a long running partnership with Pioneer... [sweatdrop]

Supercharged

Already confirmed from someone's earlier post that it is from Pioneer. How did Alpine fly into the picture?

This afternoon went to audio shop to have my speakers changed. There is no rca socket nor any addition USB port at the back.

That means we cannot connect a digital tuner through the rear of the HU.

Not sure if you can connect it to a digital tuner. From what I saw this afternoon. Fuse box is on the passenger side, behind the glove box. Beside it is where u can change your air change filter. I have to changed to Hepa filter, as for the filter size, it is the as the previous gen alits air con filter.

Any aircon filter tray for this gen of Altis? or just slide the filter into the slot?
