There will not be many choices left,... then go for the 2 or 3 left, and negotiate hard for it. you'll be surprised that you can actually afford it.

A3, A5Sb, yeah... but A4 just doesn't. I guess Passat B8 feels like a cheaper equal
7hm Turbocharged July 4, 2015 Share July 4, 2015 Mondeo used to "undercut" Mazda6's pricing... but now that Mazda switch to displaying nett price, now they undercut Mondeo by $8k.
Wizzercool 1st Gear July 6, 2015 Share July 6, 2015 Any chance that Regent will be bringing Mondeo with black/dark leather? Now considering either Camry Hybrid or Mondeo. But neither one has black leather, so holding back.
Jasbert 1st Gear July 6, 2015 Share July 6, 2015 No firm reply from Regent as i think they are unable to dictate what they want. Instead they are allocated what Ford Europe can ship over after satisfying bigger markets such as uk/Aus. Next shipment is likely to be end of the year or early 2016.
bsswan 6th Gear July 6, 2015 Share July 6, 2015 I told Regent months ago at launch time when I was in the market that it would have been a more difficult decision for me if it had come with a dark interior. As it was, because of the colour, it was an easy tick in the Minus column and when it all added up, I had to walk away.........and that was after 6-8months of waiting for it to arrive in the first place.
7hm Turbocharged July 6, 2015 Share July 6, 2015 Maybe the next stocks will have other colors. It's strange that every other country have black leather and some don't even have this 'soft ceramic' color leather. Regent offers local reupholstery, but not for free. Miles 4th Gear July 6, 2015 Share July 6, 2015 Let's look at it this way, Regent Motor/Vantage Auto, whatever you call them, is a small player (let's not consider PML - their sister company from parent Sime Darby Holding for now) in the small car market in Singapore. How many cars do they sell a year? then breakdown to how many Mondeos sold a year? And how many Mondeos sold a month? If you understand cost competitiveness in economies of scale, you understand that they have neither. They have a product that's not popular with the mass, who prefers BMW, Merc, Toyota or Lexus. If they bring in whatever spec you want or to the whims and fancies of any odd walk in customer, they will have inventory back dated all the way to 2010. So, in all good business sense, they restrict the models, SKU, and even color they bring in. Sell them to the market they feel is in the middle of the bell curve. If any customer prefers more option, play the numbers game, or use their selling skills to convince customers otherwise. At the end of the day, they are competing in a market that sells more BMW or Merc than the humble Ford, Peugeot, Citroen, Opel, Alfa and Renault add together. They have to be prudent and get the market taste right, just to put Ford cars on the road for the odd afficionados, to sustain their aftersales workshop, and keep the brand alive (possibly with Ford's support) in this small market. My advice to you, look at other alternatives if you cannot accept the color of the interior they offer. Or make compromises if you want it so badly. There are many alternatives available. Otherwise, you may have to continue waiting till the next model comes around.
7hm Turbocharged July 6, 2015 Share July 6, 2015 They definitely do not have the economy of scale that other dealers here have. While it's perfectly understandable that they have only one upholstery color (Hyundai i40 also only in black, the brown/blue leather not brought in), it's definitely strange that they would pick an unpopular color, which reduces the potential buyers even more. And this is at a time when Ford is trying to break into our market again.

And this is at a time when Ford is trying to break into our market again. The bell curve is sometimes flawed if its based on customers' opinion. If its based on past sales, its also flawed because product and trend move with time. Sometimes as managers, you just have to take a calculated risk with the decision you make. Get it right, huat ah. Get it wrong, get booted. Ford has been trying to break into the market since the launch of Focus and Mondeo Mk I.
