Vratenza Supersonic March 9, 2016 Share March 9, 2016 I think he booked a XV in his previous post. He is quite ambiguous in his previous postings. Alot of reference to BM and toyota. "Icic. Hope u get yr coe. Btw did u get the non or gaurantee coe. Feel abit cheated cos bm 3k a gaurantee 6 bid, so sotong to hear my SE say apr will get before u scrap yr car. Cos i also trade in my ride to Offset 1.5k for that gaurantee. Last time 10yrs i just apply for non but got it in the 3 or 4 bid. Funny that i book earlier and my colleagues book his subaru at the same month and got his ride on the same month. My 2 months later and his coe os cheaper i think. Only BM 3k, rest of the market either 1 or 2 k. Almost forgot MI has 8 bid non gaurante thats 3k cheaper." ↡ Advertisement
Tohto Hypersonic March 9, 2016 Share March 9, 2016 I told my OC who wasn't very keen at first after looking at the pic, but she was ok with the features. When she saw the 240BHP and Subaru logo, her sian half and say "not again!? I duwant another bumpy and noisy car that can only hear the exhaust sound instead of the radio!" I managed to coax her to join me in the testdrive with my little one. That's the impression for most people for Subaru car. All thanks to the MI boss Ah Beng and those street racer. Anyway, when one of my colleague heard I book a Forester. He start to comment Subaru cars engine are so rough, noisy, high FC etc......as usual all the hear said..... BTW he is driving a X3. Another colleague who follow me for a test drive was so impress with XT.
BenTong Turbocharged March 9, 2016 Share March 9, 2016 This is my thought process when getting a new car: - Within limit of my Budget - More spacious than current car - Just as powerful or more powerful than current car which is a 1.5 turbo. - must be quieter and more comfy I look at the Following cars: 1) Mazda 3 2.0, felt it's a status quo rather than improvement, esp the space and power. But loved the features. OC not keen and question whether it's wise to go back NA since I love my turbo so much. 2) Used Golf GTI, worked out the cost and depreciation and dropped the idea. The condition of the car is not too good for the asking price. Oc complained it as small as my current car, not an upgrade of space for her. 3) Ford Kuga and it set the standard for me in features. OC loved it. but the price and popularity stopped me. I hardly see Kugas on the road and that scares me. added the follow wishlist: - Big sunroof, OC's choice - auto tailgate 3) Mazda CX5, very nice, but lack features and above budget. 2.5l NA disappointing. smaller interior and boot. Wife dun like the Mazda brand 4) VW Tiguan, packed with features and nice drive, OC love it. Price is way above Kuga. VW reputation scares me abit. 5) Qasqhai, ok features and nice looking, OC is ok but felt the power will not satisfy me. Lack of Sunroof puts her off. I was stumped. My choice was the Kuga but I was not happy with the price. One night I just do a filtering in SGCARMART based on my criteria of budget, features and power and the FXT came into the list. At first I thought it's not very attactive then I look at the specs and features. There is no car with that power, that much features at that price! That is if you can swallow the looks. Next day I called MI and the first thing I ask is "how much is the insurance" knowing the rumors about Subaru's high premium. The SE got back to me on the price and I was smiling. It was only 200 more than my current car! I told my OC who wasn't very keen at first after looking at the pic, but she was ok with the features. When she saw the 240BHP and Subaru logo, her sian half and say "not again!? I duwant another bumpy and noisy car that can only hear the exhaust sound instead of the radio!" I managed to coax her to join me in the testdrive with my little one. While everyone tested the power in the testdrive, I slow like a turtle to feel the comfort level of the car are normal speed. Immediate Seal of approval from OC! The little one was like climbing up and down and having fun! The rest is history. Don't be so shiok with your purchase. Very soon you will be poisoned by all these Bros who gave you praises. Be prepared to set aside another $10K for these poison! And we promise we don't tell your OC. But u buy Kopi. Tohto Hypersonic March 9, 2016 Share March 9, 2016 This is the omv i got for jan 2016 frm onemotoring. 2il at $14542 (parf@$4771) & 2XT at $17969 (parf@$6485) -5k cev rebate. Worth? Still alright la. Compare to vezel with 10k cev rebate even worse. But its up to individual taste. Most important u must love yr ride XT no rebate, should be $5k surcharge. So the Parf should be around $9k. Sglanevo 2nd Gear March 9, 2016 Share March 9, 2016 If XV suits your needs then get XV. I think not much difference in interior except for the exterior. 1.6L is very sufficient for Singapore Roads.. dont say.. Even NSH also no problem haha Better check with MI on changing rims.. whatever u change in the car sure void warranty wan. Later change rims, they void your suspension warranty. Alot of BS wan la.. Is it? Didnt knw AD so stingy. I better ask before i change things. Thanks for the reminder. Mine was 101800 guaranteed coe. Mine was 101800 guaranteed coe. Vratenza Supersonic March 9, 2016 Share March 9, 2016 Me book back Altis. Thats why i say i dnt wnt to regret not getting an XV. No offence but that is kind of retrograde kind of logic here. I usually do my research and ask all my questions about the various contenders before I book. And when I book, I am sure I have eliminated most chances of regret. My uncle driving 1 but i dont like the handling at all.. Ya, Altis is quite fool proof. My uncle drive one too... Maybe Forester is cater to diff breed of drivers, it is fun to drive and handle etc & most Forester owners less concern about FC (anyway, the FC of Forester is reasonable when compare to other cars that have same cc and power). Overall, it is value for money choice although it is not the lowest cost (when u want to compare in every dept i.e. FC, road tax, insurance etc.)
